has anyone kept all time/single season records in single season progressives? Would be fascinating to see.

The site has been carrying single season/career records for progressives for a couple of years now.

I've compiled single season records for the WIBL since WIS started linking the seasons. The league started in 1969, the archives go back to 1976, and we are drafting 1989 right now.

I've got the records and some interesting Top 10 stats/achievements listed too. Excel file if you are really interested.

Mickey Mantle - traded up to get him at the #5 spot in a 51/91 dual progressive initial draft (Bonds, Clemens, Maddux, and Mays went before him.) Mantle's been MVP for 5 straight seasons (56-60) and is well on his way to a 6th straight. Meanwhile, the club one two World Series in the decade and a couple more pennants. So I picked up The Mick in another progressive (via trade) just for his '63-on seasons.

I've had Billy Pierce twice too. Never spectacular, but solid - often one of the top ten starters in the league, if never the best.

re Mantle - damn, Mantle dropped to 5th in that draft?

Just a while back participated in the Extreme inaugural draft. All db players drafted as rookies, progress thru their careers from that point. I drafted #17 in the 1st and took Honus Wagner. Didn't really want to be good early - Wagner didn't really blossom until his 4th or 5th season, and I wanted my guys to match peaks.

Would have taken Mantle when the draft snaked back to me in Rd 2, even tho it would have messed with my timing, plus the fact I wanted to go with a pitcher in rd 2. Fortunately, the Mick went immediately ahead of me and I took Steve Carlton.

Imo Mantle's first 8-9 seasons are as good as anyone's in the wis db. I would have taken him 1st overall in a 51/91 draft.
