Who are the users you respect and/or enjoy the most?

Lazerhawks

JohnGPF, ARomano, Richard3244, ligapelota and Mgs17 (he paid for this mention). They are great players and only use the message boards in a positive way. Although it makes it a lot more fun when there is a blowhard or two mixing it up.

THANK YOU FOR THE MENTION ......... BIG_KAHUNA

  • Uecker appeared in a series of popular Miller Lite commercials. In one popular commercial from the 1980s, Uecker was seen preparing to watch a baseball game when an usher informs him he is in the wrong seat. Uecker pompously remarks, "I must be in the front row," which became another of his catchphrases. The punch line was that Uecker's seat was actually in the nosebleed section. Since then, the farthest seats from the action in arenas and stadiums have been called "Uecker seats". There is a section of $1 seating called the "Uecker Seats" at Miller Park, which is an obstructed-view area in the deep upper grandstand above home plate where the stadium's roof pivot comes together (in reference to one of his Miller Lite commercials).

Miller Park's Uecker Seats. These obstructed-view, one dollar seats were named so based on a Miller Lite commercial featuring Milwaukee Brewers commentator Bob Uecker.

Is that the same Uecker that was a catcher and then an announcer?

Had the pleasure of sitting in front of Robin Williams (huge Giant fan) for Game 6 of the 2002 World Series in Anaheim. He was funny and interacted with fans (Giants & Angels) in the area...though not so much after Spiezio's 3 run HR.

As satisfying as the Angels comeback victory was, it was almost as good knowing that we could get better tickets than Robin Williams for the game....a fact we needled him about throughout!

Didn't know that Blomberg was the first DH. That IS a good trivia question. I used it with a bunch of guys and none of them knew the answer.

Update: During the interview, I said that I wanted to attend an All Star game. Well, it happened. A wealthy and connected sim player (probably not good to mention his name...he'll get too many other requests) got me some great seats to the recent All-Star game and home run derby...had a great time.
