Keeping inflation at 2% at the expense of the unemployed is a much worse alternative.  Telling the american people that you will allow the inflation rate to increase so that more of them can get back to work may be a challenging point to get across, but it is the right thing to do.

I don't know, maybe, but monetary policy usually doesn't fall within a candidate's platform, the fed controls it and the fed is independent of the pres & congress.

We have socialized fire protection.  Socialized police protection.  Socialized retirement.  Socialized medicine.  Socialized K-12 education.  I'm sure there are others I'm missing.  I'm not arguing that we should be socialist, just that it isn't black and white.  We have elements of capitalism and socialism, but not a pure form of either.
When the fu_k did we go from the economy to thinking that the police and fire departments are socialist programs.................Seriously, you cannot be this dumb. Go look up socialism and get back to me, and we are all waiting for your first assignment to be finished.

Is that what I said? That certainly isn't what you asked. Monetary policy usually isn't included in a presidential campaign platform. It's controlled by the fed and not well understood by the general public.

Is jrdx still insisting that cracking some poor eggs to make, hopefully, a better economic omelet is a good thing?

Is he implying that a Presidential Candidate might just say "I"m going to increase inflation if I'm elected" in order to gather more votes?

Yes, and no.  He's waffling.  On the one hand he's saying that "sucks to be you, better luck next time" is an electable platform, but is implying that a candidate might not say that.  He's also unable to answer whether a President can have any influence on how to get the economy back on it's feet.
