So here is what the left wants to portray.

That everyone wants gay marriage but a handful of crazy Republicans.

In fact even after the mass pop culture blitz the split is still pretty close to 50-50.

And it gets worse for gay marriage supporters when people actually vote on the issue.

It is about 10-1 when we count the states that voted against gay marriage as opposed to for it. Even California voted against it, so you can say it is just small states.

So how can the left explain that in a state that went for Romney less that 38% voted to not alow gay marriage?

In reality there are many people that do not care about gay marriag when voting, so the vote for Obama, but against gay marriage.

And there is a difference between a poll where you are asked should gay people be alowed to marry, and voting in an election for it. You may believe in the concept of freedom for gays but not in the specifics of the law.

If there was actually a majority of Americans supporting of gay marriage we wouldnt need the SC to make this call!

SHOW ME WHERE IT SAYS THAT IN THE CARTOON PANEL PEGGY?  I think the target was the religious right but then you see things no one else does so maybe I am wrong.

So when you use the term "Religious Right" you are not talking about extreme religious Republicans?

What does that term mean than?

You didnt use a politically neutral term, like Fundamental or Orthodox Christians. You used a political designator, right meaning right wing.

And clearly the people in the cartoon are portrayed as crazy.

So aside from a technical issue, if we are talking about Republican Christians, or just extreme Christians in general, do you care to respond to the meat of my response? The actual facts and not simple side issues that detract from the main topic?

I can wait...

Ok, every thing I read says that it is becoming more acceptable to the public at large. You say no. Since proving either of our positions is based on polls and it then becomes a question of which one you believe. I really do not care one way or another so quoting polls here is a total waste of time. I just find it funny how excited those of you on the right get about the concept of marrage. Who cares?
4/3/2013 3:53 PM
Oh and that "I can wait" bullshit, shove it up your *** you fat ****. If I choose not to respond it would be because you are not relevent, not that you have me stumped about something.

Well, I’ll be damned. You knew it was gonna happen. The Second Amendment just up and shot the First Amendment with an assault rifle, unprovoked and with what little available forethought there is in North Carolina.

Republican North Carolina state legislators have proposed allowing an official state religion in a measure that would declare the state exempt from the Constitution and court rulings.

The bill, filed Monday by two GOP lawmakers from Rowan County and backed by nine other Republicans, says each state “is sovereign” and courts cannot block a state “from making laws respecting an establishment of religion.”

“I’m Proud To Be An American North Carolinian South Baptist” will now be sung at all Duke University Blue Devils Red Angels basketball games.

Smokey Mountain National Park will become North Carolina Hills of Galilee and Hallelujah Jesus Theme Park. The historic coastal city of Wilmington will be named The Baptismal Font of Glory and Washing Away of Sins, where genders do not mix because of all those wet tee-shirts after the dunkings.

They will still have bars and dance halls in North Carolina but they will be renamed Holy Water and Rejoicing Centers.

And all them Jesus hatin’ sumbitches who are too chicken to kill someone for stealing a teevee or lookin’ funny at your wife have to move to Virginia.

Them’s the rules, you Yankee First Amendment sumbitches

Some of the people pushing this bill are clearly doing it for dramatic intent and know that it will never get anywhere.

The original intent of the Constitution would allow for states to do this, but over time the Federal Government took the power away from the states. Something the Founding Fathers would be bothered by.

So this is just a little bit of trying to make a point through hyperbole.

Sorry that it doesnt prove that southerneres are all stupid, like we know you believe!

THE SOUTHERNERES ARE GONNA DO IT AGAIN!

LOSE

Keep on worrying about the "Founding Fathers".......as if their opinions would have ANY kind of relevance in this world we live in today. Talk about living in Make-Believe Land.......you so-called "conservatives" worry about what 200 and some plus year old people would think about what you're doing today. That's just *** backwards.

So you do not think they are serious? As an athest you have no fear of being declared a criminal? As a Catholic I know I will avoid the state because them southerners hate them some Papests.

Again this is just to bring up the point that the 1st Amendment was supposed to apply to the Federal Government and the states were caught up in the power grab of the feds and now everyone has to meet the same standard.

I have never feared Christians preventing me from being an Atheist in America.

Voting is a what-have-you-done-lately affair.

November 2012- Maryland, Maine, and Washington voters voted to allow same-sex marriage.

Minnesota voted to not ban it.

That's 4-0.
4/4/2013 5:13 PM
So the fact that there are 30+ bans in place out of 50 states means nothing?

The few that took place are the sign?

Again if people were really so much behind it, there would be no need for SC decisions.

And this isnt about what side of the issue is right, this is about politics and numbers.
