True Dat........but Kim got to sightsee Singapore, elevate himself to "leader" status, and all without having to leave his own shitter.
Art of the Deal Indeed!
What's in it for rocketman? Yeah, if he denuclearizes the peninsula he has an opportunity to become a transformative leader for North Korea. A chance to change the culture, open up the borders for free trade with economic giants like the USA, actually grow the economy and start feeding their malnourished citizens. Kim doesn't have to be his dad.
Think of the legacy for Kim Jung Un.
For Tang.
What makes you think that Kim is having a sudden personality change? Furthermore, why should he trust us? He saw what we did in Iraq.
Trump is a master negotiator.
and seeing what we did in Iraq is EXACTLY why he should do something now. Look what happened there all because Hussain wouldn't let nuke inspectors in.
Yeah but we wouldn't have invaded Iraq if Saddam had nukes, right?
Who knows.... Obama dropped bombs in Pakistan, and they have nukes.
More likely then an invasion.... Trump will just continue to starve them out and crush their economy.... all while keeping China at bay so they can't help NK.
The answer is no. If Saddam had kept nukes, he would still be on power. You don't think Kim sees that? Tell me moy, what do you think Kim's goals are? I would say his only goal is to keep power, at all costs.
Power of what? Tiny, malnourished North Korea?
To be 30 and wealthy but not able to travel the world.... Imagine how much more money he can make by having sanctions removed and trading globally.
I'm not Un (thank God) and I have no idea what he's thinking... but Trump is giving him one shot at this. If Un wants to be a recluse then fine... But Trump's not one to give this another go around it doesn't work out now, he'll just move on to other issues. Trump doesn't have time to waste on something he thinks is going nowhere.
North Korea is still a country, and a fairly powerful one at that. Kim isn't a normal person, he is a dictator from a line of dictators. I don't see where the character swap came in and he suddenly wants global cooperation.
Moy, Get your head out of the fake news approval ratings and actually have a discussion.
Yeah, you're wrong... Again. Time will tell.
You libs keep underestimating Trump. He's a great negotiator. Watch.
So you agree that Trump hasn't done anything yet?
No. I don't. He already got our last prisoner out of NK and gave up nothing. He arranged for the immediate release of all remains from our fallen soldiers to the US. He's saving money by suspending 'war games'. NK hasn't tested a single missile in 7 months. That's REAL.
Trump also said his NK summit is a first step.... And that denuclearization won't happen in a day. 500 days ago, before Trump was in office, you may recall how bad the NK tensions were.... Infact you and your lib buddies were screaming WWIII is coming now that Trump is in office. You should probably learn to give credit where credit is due. Trump has shocked the world, in a good way.
All of that is wonderful, but the real goal is denuclearization. Like I get that the summit is a first step but I just don't see how the next step will be made. IMO, Kim only wants to keep power, that's been his rhetoric up to this point and will continue in the future. I don't see any character swap there. The summary of all of this for me has been 'I will believe it when I see it.' IF Trump is able to reach a tangible deal on denuclearization I promise I will give him full credit for that.
All of the other things deserve praise too, though. I fully agree with you that Trump has done more with NK than Obama. That and the economy are the only saving graces about his presidency. Is it enough to excuse everything else? No. Do I overall think Trump has been a good president? No. But I will give credit where credit is due.
I will offer you a deal, moy. I will reserve my opinions about denuclearization until it develops or fails, IF you do the same with the Mueller investigation. Sound fair?
BTW, BL doesn't represent all liberals. I was not saying WW3 was going to happen nor did I think the economy would crash.
