Player Review Phase 4 - Salaries Topic

New spreadsheet is out there.  I've incorporated fouls with a relatively low weight.  Sounds like we're getting close to signing off on the salary formula, so now is the time to mention any outstanding problems with it.  Thanks.

Found a minor error in the spreadsheet from 3:08 today.  If you downloaded it between 3:08 and now, please re-download for the corrected numbers.

I can't find 79-80 Mark Landsberger's total season (found both partial seasons, but not the complete season).
Hmmm... I started looking for others who were traded mid way through the year and can't find them (64-65 Wilt, 94-95 Drexler)...

So, other than that (and the fact that offensive juggernauts from the older eras are still going to be practically unusable), yes, this is very nice.  I'd still like to get a look at the new PE before I give 100% go head, but yeah, I'm ready to put this through some heavy testing.

Why is Jordan's 86 season only 72% ($/Min) compared to Bryant's 06 seaons?  Their $/Min should be a lot closer than that.

I would guess the new pricing emphasis on 3PM.

Probably with more emphasis on true shooting%

Seble also stated at some point that lower minute players were priced somewhat lower.

Yes I remember him saying that also.  Anyways the salaries look good to me its not perfect but its a big improvment from the current salaries

much better overall - one complaint, Baylor, Pettit, Hayes again saw salary increases - their actual/perceived sim value is next to nothing and no one really uses them with any frequency in open leagues because of already high salaries

Are the complete seasons still missing?

Yes, combined season records are not currently included.  Once position effectiveness is finalized I will recreate them.

Yea, maybe with guys like Baylor (high usage, low efficiency), it would be better if each additional usage percent actually decreased their salary (i.e. a guy with a true shooting percent of 49% who shoots 15 fga per game should be worth less than a guy with the same other stats who only shoots 8 fga per game).  Alternatively, maybe there should be a way to adjust the actual number of "plays called" for a guy, artificially choosing to lower (but never raise) someone's effective usage percent (within reason), but I guess we aren't talking about engine changes (although this seems like it would just be a UI change and then a change for what input the engine uses for usage rate).

seble. I'm going to wait until the new salaries come out to finish making my current team. Can you tell me when you are planning to activate these new salaries?  An approximation is fine.

Thank you.

Hopefully everything will be out in the next couple of weeks, but it depends on what you guys think of the new position effectiveness and how long that takes to review.
