1923 Cy Williams Best Home Run Hitter Topic

1923 Cy Williams seems to be one of the best handed power hitters in all of sims, for just over 6 million he has constantly hits 50-60 homes runs for many of my teams. I have seem him outhit Ruth, Bonds, Foxx, Mantle and many of the home run hitters in 80 million open leagues who's price most of time is much higher.

So I was wondering is there a right handed power hitter that even comes close to Cy Williams.

If so who do you think he is?

The only right handed home run hitter that I have used that seems to even come close to Williams numbers is 1943 Rudy York

50-60?... wanna share the cheat codes?

York, and some other seasons of his as well. There is a Hank Greenberg season that plays fairly well. Foxx also has a few reasonably priced seasons. Jocko's .366 season plays well, but it is a lot of $/PA. I was in a league in which someone used an 1899 player (Buck Ewing?) who hit a ton of HRs in Coors.

"constantly... for many of my teams" ?

I dont doubt the occasional anomaly... I once had '74 Tenace hit 40+ for me.

The 1899 guy is Buck Freeman...a forgotten gem HR season from baseball history

99 Buck rocks no doubt

Yes cameraey

CONSTANLY AS IN

Continually occurring; persistent

Regularly recurring;

Continually occurring; persistent.

Unchanging in nature, or extent; invariable

I'm not talking about once in a life time event as in Gene Tenace

Anyway I did not start this post to argue with anyone one, I simply asked a question as to which RIGHT HANDED HITTER compares to Cy Williams.

The answer to your question is Gavvy Cravath.

Cy Williams is outslugging Babe Ruth `19 ($8.4 MM) on one of my OL teams right now.

As mentioned, Buck Freeman `99 is another LH steal and a huge bargain.

From the right side, nobody comes close to Gavvy Cravath `15. Tremendous value.

Hank Greenberg `46 is probably next.

Jimmy Foxx `30 is an awesome combination of average and power, but a very pricey $7.2 MM.

If you want power on the supercheap, check out sleeper Tim Jordan `06 at 1B.

Wish there were more parks that favored RH power.

Buck Freeman is correct. I forgot about Gavvy...an obvious cookie. For some reason, I find those pre 1940 power hitters get there Hrs, but they always seem to hit well below their BAs for me. Neverthless, they are great values. '71 Aaron seems promising, but I have never used him myself.
