Can't wait to see what kind of bullshit he comes up with...more Cavs-Blazers finals? You know what my reaction is to his entire website...who gives a f*ck? He's now doing 50000 simulations because his methods are too ****** at 10000....funny. A website solely based around sports predictions won't last long and if you want to bring up my website...mine isn't my job, I probably haven't poured a 10th of the money that Paul's poured into his and I have a more various pallet than his site does...I have games, many different rankings, stat analyses, and forthcoming a Youtube rant show, and best of all, you don't even need to "sign up" at my website to view LOGICAL, WELL-COMPUTED rankings and other things. Paul wants to meddle in what were the chances of X Y and Z happening...lol...who cares?

how is that site even viable?......no ads, no sign up fee.....how will that site make money?

I'll bet he's banking on some national publicity for this thing, but I just don't see it happening. Putting my "battle" with Paul aside, I personally don't find this kind of website the least bit interesting....statistical sports predictions? Who cares? Nobody cared/cares about BTB, why are they going to care about this? The only reason I would remotely want to sign up to Paul's site is to see him fall on his face, but I guess even that isn't worth it. I take pride in not having a secret handshake to visit my website.

I love the lies in his bio....

"Over that time period, Paul has had great success, accurately choosing the winner of: five of the last six Super Bowls, including last year's four-point (exactly) win by Pittsburgh; five of the last six World Series, including the Yankees' 2009 win in six and the 2006 Cardinals win in five (both to the game); five of the last six Stanley Cup champions; and five of the last six NCAA Tournament champions (as of Selection Sunday)."

He needs an asterisk that says that this happened after the final matchups were already determined...its easy to pick a winner when there are 2 teams ...its basically 50-50.

He did a whirlwind radio tour to promote the site. 26 shows in 13 hours (coast to coast). thats how WIS first got started as well... I caught Tarek on a morning show in Detroit and haven't .

Not wanting to debate or quantify anything that is output.... the bottom line is that its a service that people will pay for. Not a bad way to earn some money. I suppose we could critique every handicapper and odds maker if we do not agree with their results.

No asterisk needs to be added... people are betting on the game; "that" game. We do not bet the Superbowl in the first round of the playoffs. That is what the site is more about. Grudges can hinder the sight line I suppose. When you put a lot of money on the game its still a 50-50 shot... but losing a lot of money is easy too. And it can sting since there are so may irresponsible people out there. I think you are overlooking the purpose of the site to support a worthless argument that very few really care about. He moved on from WIS and its probably time for you to move on with the grudge.

please note for me in the thread re tinman's new site that while in his bio he takes pains to call out his triumphs in prognostication vis MLB, NFL, NCAA and NHL for some reason he fails to mention his track record with the NBA - I wonder why that is

I suppose we could critique every handicapper and odds maker if we do not agree with their results. Question is, how exactly is he earning money off of this. I expect his Cavs-Blazers shtick to get old rather fast.

Then don't predict the entire playoffs, then RE-PREDICT the final and claim you're right...that's incredibly weak. Any boob could guess 5 out of 6...given a 50/50 chance...I mean come on, please. He chose the Yankees over the Phillies...that's tough. Lakers over the Magic...oooooohhhhh Paultradamus... The funny thing is, you can practically say the very same thing about BTB, and ironically enough, that's what Paul's new site basically is. He moved on from WIS and its probably time for you to move on with the grudge. There's no grudge per se, I just want him to own up to ALL the predictions he's made, not just the right ones. Let's bury Cavs-Blazers, Jets over Saints, and the fact that he had the Phillies losing in the first round....those don't matter...he picked 5 out of 6 afterwards....

He's not predicting the entire playoffs there... I yield they did that here though. I suspect he had restrictions and guidelines to follow here and now that he is on his own (or with a separate entity) he can do it his own way now. I am not saying it will be any better now than before... its just a small sample size. Pun intended. WIS or FOX likely made him predict from the onset. If you think this is wrong then I guess 4 out of 5 dentists don't recommend Crest afterall. Everyone.... in all walks of life and business use numbers to their advantage. the gullible will fall in line and in doing so will line the pockets of of others. This one is incredibly harmless compared to others. This is why I say its a grudge... why not take up a political stance like Obama saying 600,000 new jobs were created since the stimulus began... raise a ruckus about the 2.4 mil that have been eliminated during that same span of time. If you are gonna have fire in the belly then make it something that benefits others. This is still a grudge IMO.

And no, I am not his traveling secretary. I worked on another venture with him (away from WIS and this current prediction site) recently (few months or more ago). There are several users here that keep in contact with him.

Monkee makes a good point about the NBA however. I agree in questioning why its missing. Wish he still had a voice in some form or another. He'll find a way back in I'm sure. It would be felonius not to.... right Matt?

Anyways Trevor- I do not disagree with questioning the results but to continue this after he is gone just seems childish. Sorry.

I guess I'll have to take your word for this because I don't even intend on signing up on his site, but I don't really see how he won't be predicting the entire playoffs...unless he's going to go round by round. I yield they did that here though. I suspect he had restrictions and guidelines to follow here and now that he is on his own (or with a separate entity) he can do it his own way now. I am not saying it will be any better now than before... its just a small sample size. I do think its funny that he's doing 50000 simulations now rather than 10000...he's basically admitting that 10000 isn't good enough in/for his formats, and if you can't get good answers out of 10000 simulations, you should probably pack up and go home (Cavs v. Blazers). The fact that he has to sim each game/series 40000 more times says enough about his "predictalator" (ridiculous name). Pun intended. WIS or FOX likely made him predict from the onset. The fact that WIS has a BTB thing and that Paul to go to another BTB thing, makes me believe that Paul was integral in helping/making WIS run this concept...thus I don't see this as all of FOX's fault. I highly doubt Paul's hands were tied. Rather surprised that there wasn't some kind of no compete clause in his contract....but its WIS so I guess it isn't that surprising. If you think this is wrong then I guess 4 out of 5 dentists don't recommend Crest afterall. If you are gonna have fire in the belly then make it something that benefits others. This is still a grudge IMO. I care about sports, my website is based around sports, so yes I'm going to gripe more about sports than anything else because its my forte, its what I know most about. I'm not a dentist, I'm not a politician...I'm a very intelligent sports fan that is going to call anyone out on their bullshit and expects others to do the same to/for me. If you don't like something or the entire truth isn't being told, why not stand up and say something? If all you're going to do is paint good, good, good, I'm going to be the one that puts everything in perspective, and if you don't like it tough....then don't predict Cavs over Blazers, or Oklahoma over Louisville, ltm.

And no, I am not his traveling secretary. I worked on another venture with him (away from WIS and this current prediction site) recently (few months or more ago). There are several users here that keep in contact with him. That's classy, use the company you're leaving for their customers, viewership, and assistance...quite classy.

Monkee makes a good point about the NBA however. I agree in questioning why its missing. Wish he still had a voice in some form or another. Since when can't Paul post here? He'll find a way back in I'm sure. It would be felonius not to.... right Matt?

Anyways Trevor- I do not disagree with questioning the results but to continue this after he is gone just seems childish. Sorry. Paul can pop in and defend himself/his results any time he wants. Just because he is gone doesn't mean that his nonsense is forgotten, ESPECIALLY since his new website perpetuates the same BS that he failed with here...everything still applies and it always will until he shuts that site down. I'll be damned if I'll be the one to let such a prediction like Cavs over Blazers go...like it or not, I try to hold people accountable, especially when they don't own up to what they did/didn't do, and like I said, I expect the same treatment. I didn't say a word about Paul until this thread where superbeast got the response he was looking for.

If you have time, we should still do lunch. Peace.

Trevor- Paul did not recruit me or anyone else from the site. Just because you don't care for his output as a statistician does not mean everyone else should feel the same. But more importantly knowing Paul as an individual.... is why I keep in touch with him. There's a reason for this just like there is a reason I have not met you for a couple of drinks or lunch. I do not want to sit there and be corrected all night or told my particular views are dead wrong because they do not align with your narrow mindedness. Paul's not like that and its a good match for me to converse with him about sports, life, politics or whatever. I could be dead wrong and we'd get along fine but as of this moment I do not need 50,000 runs, 10,000 runs or even 5 runs to know what the odds are. And I am just as wrong in making that assumption as you are for calling BS.

As for 10k vs. 50k.... The more you do a simulation the more one of two things happen- a clear cut divide appears between two entities or a tightening of sorts that get you closer to 50-50. I think 100 is fine for a football matchup since they only play 16 games a season and never more than 3 against a single opponent in said season. Baseball and Hoops (or hockey I guess) maybe 500 is enough to see trending. But you don't think of it that way. If I have numbers to choose from in a lottery and in 50,000 runs the number 5 comes up 1000 times then I'd play the 5 in my number set (Assumes highest number captured in the 50k run). If it came up 2 times in 100 I would not be so fond of the number even though its the same %. People who get into this stuff look at it like that. People who do not understand it are either indifferent or calling BS. I have no problem with calling BS- as long as the BS that gets spun is better. I have yet to see you out perform the predictions. When he gets his next pick set up lets post his picks here. And you can post yours. And let me know so I can copy/quote both picks. (Not an assumption fo potential cheating... just making it idiot proof).

No one predicts at 100% but I'd follow along anyone who does it well (regardless of personality).

Just to clarify- I was referring to Monkee when I said I wish he still had a voice here. Far as I know Paul has no restrictions to speak here.

The project I did with Paul was relating to my efforts to find work. Nothing to do with sports, simulations, WIS, work agreements/non competes or anything else in that regard. But since I did not state that upfront (and still do not think I should have to) you assume the worse and paint a picture only the ignorant can see.

I see your passion for sports and predictions. Its great you have a voice here. But its only a whisper inn the grand scheme of things. But everything starts somewhere and maybe you'll find it one day. Differences of opinion(s) firmly in place I still do not wish for (your) failure. I just wish you could turn that passion into something constructive or useful. (Meaning its a good thing to have drive for something. But being driven to a small website that is virtually unknown vs. something much more prominent seems like a wasted effort. Bottom line.... who cares? Are you emailing or posting about everyone else who has a poor prediction record in sporting events? Why not? A rose by any other name is still a rose. Or a grudge. Potato po-tah-toe.
