My apologies to league mates Topic

Been absent from the site execpt for a few minutes here and there...Had a death in the family, preparing for a mother-in-law to move in, and a 3 year software project that I'm a PM for went live on tuesday. Not enough hours in the day.

I am neglecting 2 progressives and 2 theme leagues filling/just filled. I will be back to the site a bit more next week, and I apologize to my themes and league mates.

Sorry...

Sorry to hear about the death.

I had my mother-n-law move in for 10 months - did not work out

when mothers in law move in, you'd think they are dependents and have no more leverage at all

Sorry about the death in your family. I've got lots of the same troubles but,I have to contend also w/my worthless bro-n-law. His b&*^h wife. And there two useless kids. Two blocks away and they cant see their Grandmother in a nursing home. And shes been there for three years. I'm hoping one day murder will become legal.

the mother-in-law thing can sometimes work out. depends on circumstances. I don't think one can generalize about it. my mom moved in with my brother's family and it worked out splendidly. I offered to my wife to have her mother move in with us...my wife said, "no.." She knew it wouldn't work out well. Every one is different. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do and that's it.

Just an update....

My father-in-law died right after Christmas.

My walkout basement is no longer wet bar and game room, is now mother-in-law suite. All the work is done, finished on Sunday. She's moving down here in March. Wheeeeee. I had to sell my kegarator! :(

My wife's cousins for some reason think that they are due an inheritance from my wife's father... He has 2 kids and a widow, but his 3 neices & nephew somehow think they are due an inheritance, and are suing my wife, her brother, and my mother-in-law. I don't get it either. There's even a will, and we're not talking a big estate...

My job is insane... We completed a 22 month complete re-write of a major retail web site on 1/12. I'm PM for the testing team. There were the usual snags, which were drastically over-reacted to by the business management. We're in mandatory 12 hour days 6 days a week. PLUS... the next project I'm running is kicking off , so I'm working 20 hours a week negotiating scope and charter on that.... Working at least 75 hours a week every week this year, sometimes as much as 90.

So, there is no WIS time in my life right now.

I gave away the leagues I founded. My teams are all on remote control. I'm trying to stay caught up with my 3 progressives, but I sign on maybe once a week for 20 minutes these days.

I'll be back, but it's going to be a month or three.

My apologies to everyone I've hosed by my inattention to the leagues I founded or in which I'm suddenly totally non-competitive.

I'll catch you all later

Keep on truckin' dude. My condolences on your losses...especially the kegerator. That hurts.

Amen, take it easy Len. Get yourself a gallon growler and find a pub that has some good taps.

and the nieces and nephews think they're due an inheritance when there is a surviving wife because ???????? that may be the worst part of this entire story.... hate to see extended families break up due to money following somebody's death, but it seems to happen all the time. Your mom in law, wife, and bro-in-law will never look at these cousins the same way again.

I'm so sorry, not only about his death but the awful reactions of the cousins.

As a fellow software professional, I'm also sorry you work for stupid and/or mean people. Those kind of hours produce no more working code than normal hours, but do ruin lives.

As soon a you are in a place where you can deal with the effort, I urge you to find a new job, before the cost gets too high. Really, and I know that is easier said than done, but still, really, move on as soon as you can.

Sorry to hear about your father-in-law... and the kegarator.

Walk tall.

I'm pretty much back now... Work has eased as my old project is now complete and stable, my new one is coming nicely up to speed. My mother-in-law is packing her house in Ohio (good thing she's going to the basement, with all the crap she's bringing she'd probabably collapse an upstairs floor!!!).

The only issue that still remains is the lawsuit (apparently the cousin's mother died first, some money to her mother (my wife's grandmother), then the grandmother died 5 years later, all (just about nothing) to her son (My father-in-law), then when he died 4 years later leaving everything to his wife..., the cousins think that they should get a piece of it... Still makes no sense to me, but they found a lawyer who thinks they have a chance to get it.. Our lawyer says they're nuts, and we're counter suing for legal costs... Gonna be fun... All this for about $10,000 that was long spent on nursing home costs for my wife's grandmother before she died..... )

To make a long story short, I'm pretty much back... I won't be starting any leagues for a while, but I've returned to all my progressives, and you all may see me in a few themes or champs leagues soon.

Thanks to everyone who sent me good wishes, it was a "perfect storm" of problems all at one time.

Later!

Len
