Highest scoring World Series in WIStory? Topic

For the first time, I'm going to have two of my teams facing each other in a World Series. This league has injuries turned off, and both my teams have a 200K scrub pitcher at 0%.

In the upcoming series, these tired scrubs will start every game while all the other pitchers will be on rest.

I'll post the boxscores in this thread, for anyone interested.

Looks like another Black Sox scandal to me

Awesome!

What type of League?

100M theme. Choose a Hall of Famer, then fill out your lineup with non-Hall of Famers who played with the same franchise (doesn't have to be the same franchise as your HoF'er).

Can you post the team names please, so I can pick the one I wish to root for.

Ashburn's Cardinals and McGraw's Pirates from MLB86111.

Ashburn's is the better team, having won 103 vs. 95 for McGraw's. Ashburn's swept the first two rounds, while McGraw's was pushed to the limit in both. I have no doubt who the winner would be if I played it straight.

Game 1:

McGraw's 42
Ashburn's 25

Player of the Game
Brian Giles drives in 8 runs

Considering everyone's playing out of position, that's not that many runs. I was hoping they'd combine for 100 at least. Maybe next game...

2 + plays with guys out of position is interesting. looks like fun

Thanks, I didn't notice the plus plays. Those players (Roy Thomas and Glenn Wright) have A+ range at their normal positions, so I guess it's not that far-fetched. I hope they knock it off, though -- I want to see more offense!

Don't forget to jack up the running settings. That'll help you boost your run totals.

Here's an oddity: Ashburn's starter Jim Hackett was at 0% entering Game 1. After throwing 255 pitches, he'll take the mound for Game 2 at 4%.
