What ever happened to Max Bishop? Topic

When I first started here, Max was the cookies cookie. He was on everyones team it seemed like.

According to his '31 performance history, he has only been used 21 times since the change in the history.

Guess when you fall from cookie status, you fall hard.

I have a choice of Ozzie and julio Cruz or Weiss and Max.

"Camera-Eye" Max Bishop

Certainly one of the better baseball nicknames of all time. Had he been born 70 years later, he'd be called M-Bish or some stupid ****.

that was several updates ago. salary changes made Max less cost effective. changes to the Sim engine made him walk less often. changes to the normalization formula may have hurt him too.

Anybody have him on a team right now and can tell us how he is doing?

To answer the question, I'm pretty sure he's dead.

The '34 has a .326 OBP leading off for an OL team. P.H. says he's good for a .396, but this is a post update team. I imagine 80mil is what used to be 95mil.

Hey, a .326 OBP isn't bad for someone who's 109 years old...

Have to love a baseball card from 1934 pointing out the Bishop, despite lacking speed, was an excellent leadoff hitter due to his great OBP. Here we are in 2009 and Dusty Baker still can't grasp the concept, but can manage to pencil the Willy Taveras' of the world into the lineup card 150 times per season.

Max Bishop 28 L2B*71001371170200.291.394.3424.95M
this is from a 100M Twist league. I have him batting 7th.

Bishop '33 in an OL just ending - BA .292, OBP .420 (97 BB 50 SO), 9 errors and 10 poor plays. Batted him 7th. Playing in a hitter park.

I will try him again at PETCO and report back. Not sure he is worth $3.5 million.

Those stats look pretty good to me. Which second baseman gives you better stats than that in an OL for 3.5 million?

Yeah, I think so too. Tho I believe the '32 version might be a good value.

I have `30 Max Bishop in an $80 MM OL. I basically use him for his high OBP on weaker offensive teams where I'm looking to cut corners and just get guys on base.

He's hitting .244 with 10 HR's and 63 RBI, but he sure gets on base. He has a .410 OBP batting third between Ben Chapman and Larry Doby. He hits RHP OK, but he is absolutely rancid against ies (.179 BA).

He has 19 errors, nine (-) plays and no (+) plays at 2B. Team is 74-60 and one game out of first. We play in AT&T Park.
