Post-season predictions Topic

This is a little off-topic, but I'd like to see everyone's predictions for the post-season. (I know technically the Det-Min playoff is regular season, but if you are willing to pick a team for the ALC, I'd like to read it.) As I understand the match-ups:

Dodgers / Cardinals
Phillies / Rockies

Yankees / (Tigers/ Twins)
Angels / Red Sox

And just so we aren't completely off-topic, please predict which 2009 player will have the highest salary in the WIS database.

Probably Pujols, though Haren or Greinke could come close.

Pujols would be around $10M under the current salary structure.

You think so? I was thinking about $9.4, but I know you have much better understanding of the salary structure than I do. I was just comparing to similar stats. And I'm thinking Greinke and Haren are both going to come in right around $9 million.

Actually, on second look my estimate of around $10M is too high because, under the current salary structure, AVG# is weighted too heavily (but that's a discussion for another thread).

Tigers in 4

I think it'll be tight between Greinke and Pujols. Both will normalize better than Haren. I guess I'll go with Pujols.

Joe Mauer is going to be up there too though. I have Mauer, Greinke, and Carpenter in a present progressive league. I am excited to use those guys.

Pujols should have the highest salary among the 2009 players, though Joe Mauer sure does make a strong statement...

Mauer doesn't have nearly enough PA to compete with Pujols, salary-wise.
10/5/2009 1:14 AM
Also feeling pretty good about the Twins chances of getting to be the team sacrificed to the Yankees.
10/5/2009 1:14 AM
Red Sox have Josh Beckett.

Dodgers will not lose a game for the rest of October. They will sweep the Cardinals/Rockies/Angels.
