Yeah, but if someone who was new to basketball asked what a good 3pt% was, obviously he already knows that someone would rather have a 90% than a 30%. But that doesn't tell him if 10% is a good 3pt% or if to be decent you need to qualify for 40%. You're basically telling me, "It's better to have a 100 for oreb and dreb than to have a 10", which doesn't help.

obviously you want more of certain things than your opponents - my formula is manifest and evident on the previous page for all to see

I have a slding scale for rebounds mased on the amount of 3pt fg's my team shoots and the efg% of my players as related to individual usage%.  That sounds weird I know, but look at it like this...

I need a crap load of rebounds if I have a player like Bob Cousy because of his very low efg% and high usage.  I do not need a many rebs if I am running with a team of 55%+ efg% guys that have fit within the usage tiers to somewhere in the 14 point range.

Ok what you are shooting for in a 42m league in terms of rebounding you should target about 35% Oreb and 90% Dreb between your 5 starters.  Now of course you should try to go above  (or below) that but them you need to be looking at eFG, TOs, FLs etc..  And what you are going to sacrifice to get more rebounding (for going above).  Use that as a template you then you can start employing your own stratgies from there.

fridge:  My answer is true even if you don't find it helpful.  Leibo says 35 & 90.  That's fine for the regular season... but come playoff time, you're in for a hurting.  Thus - the answer is more.  Always more.  There's no point where diminishing returns come into play with boards.  Rebounds & efg% are undeniably the most important stats in this sim... and rebounds are cheap.  So... get more.  (It's also my way of saying try things out and come up with your own ideas).

I also strongly disagree with Malone's last sentence.  More boards with a higher efg% just means less opportunities to get screwed by outliers in the (for lack of a better term) die roll.  I say less opportunities, but it'll still happen.  But it can mean the difference between 66-16 & a first round bye or 52-30 and a first round exit.

Yep ash, like I said 35/90 is a starting point. But I would say after that there's something you have to give up to get more... plus you can't neglect your bench too much. Eventhough you don't need many minis due to the rookies you get in the open leqgues

use (mostly) partial season players and you'll discover how little you have to give up.  It's pretty ridiculous, actually.
