So is it even possible to build a $42 open team Topic

Apparently you only need to draft 17,500 mins or thereabouts, which completely defeats the purpose of WIS because the remaining 2000 minutes are provided by imaginary "rookies" who never existed.  All they need to do is make all players about 15% cheaper and the 42 mil leagues would be fine.   Stupidity of WIS for you-

Platoon guys.  It's quite possible.  Or do what badja states and put (3) $239,000 guys on your team and replace w/ rookies.

Ok sound good but can one real get by with just 17500-18000min ??

The question is: can one win by drafting more minutes?
To really consistently win the possession war, you need to spend more $$ per minute, which doesn't allow you to really field a squad with that many minutes.

But won't you run into bad fatigue problems with less then 4000min at each spot. And then your players would all be under 100% all season?

A better question is:  Does fatigue even really matter?  The difference in 96% or 97% of a player you spend extra money on and 100% of a guy you use to get 19.6k minutes is ... huge.

The way you are answering questions with questions makes me think that you want to be the oracle in the Matrix on Ice.

A better question would be:  Why would someone want to sound like the oracle on the Matrix on Ice?

I've actually come around to the new numbers. You do have to take lower minutes, but I did this on occasion before as well. You will get some fatigue and have to utilize rookies, but it can be done. Just take a look at the NBA and how many minutes scrubs actually get. Stars don't play huge minutes these days and there is a definite drop off between the stars and the bench players.

I don't like it, but it's effective.  The engine needs some severe tweakage.  I'm sure we'll get that in a couple of years... or so...
