Seble we may need to make an adjustment Topic

I don't like raising the cap to $47m because that would really put us where we where prior to new SIM.  IMO reduction in salaries is the way to go.

Why did seble change the salaries anyway, just to do it?  Who asked for it?

the MBL sim has many, many, many more users to draw from.  I'm sure it doesn't take 5 weeks to fill a long-standing theme league there.  And I doubt open leagues take a week or more to fill.
I haven't played an OL in the mlb sim in a long time, but I know that champs leagues don't fill within a week.
baseball is a stats driven sport whose aficianados take sheets to the games and do their own stat keeping - fathers teach it to sons as a fine art - of course the MLB sim treated as a realistic simulator draws more stat-geeks

this doesnt translate to the nba which is a star driven, story driven sport

as for the when and what of it - seble has always been heavy handed - always too much - you ask for a correction it's always too far

You think so?  Because most of my OL championship teams are over $50M in salary now.

FYI

Seble

When we dealing with the new SIM we where focusing on starting players are trying to price them correctly. But the bench players are now an issue, we need to make an adjustment where if we can reduce the salary of players under 1500 minutes by 30% it would really make this work.

Eric,

Everyone was given weeks to review the new salaries and I even explicitly pointed out that bench players were going up. The feedback I got was that they were fine. At this time I'm not planning on any immediate changes, but it's always a possibility down the road. Thanks.

Understood but no one had no idea to the degree the lesser minute salaries where going to go up that much. The top like salaries where going up about 20% but the lesser minute players went up as much as 300%. The assumption was the increase in the salaires would be uniform. There was a bunch of us and no one saw it. It was a giant speadsheet and obviously like myself and others we were looking at a couple points not as an overall. This can potentially impact the SIM revenue for the worse not the better and really should be addressed. I can tell you I wont be doing any open leagues under this salary struture its much more limited than anticiapated the cookie cutter teams will be figured out pretty quickly. Which was one of the main points we were trying to accomplish with the new SIM.

Yes I'm sure there's exceptions to the $47m cap but I think its a step in the wrong direction IMO

I'd have to disagree. Look at how much the Ray Allen's, Glen Rice's, Reggie Miller's and similar players salaries went up compared to Michael Jordan's, and Lebron James's. Also, Moses Malone went  up while a lot and most Chamberlain's went down. You will see a change in teams compared to the old regime.

exceptions?  I'm not talking about one or two teams... I'm talking about 10 plus a number that won 60+ but didn't make it all the way to the end.  edit:  Okay, so I just remade 2 of them... and neither of them are over $50M, but neither come close to working in a $47M cap, either.  My original idea was a salary decrease of 10%, though, not the higher cap, so w/e

Love the feedback from seble.  Typical ******* that he is... Yeah, we were given time for feedback, but not for the final release.  He just said, "**** it, I'm tired of dealing with these guys... this sim won't exist in a year so it won't be my problem anymore."

I think we would see different teams either way.  But here's the deal-if new signups start faltering they will change it.  If not, they won't change a damn thing for at least a year.   It took 5 months to get to this point.  Sorry guys, but this ain't getting changed anytime soon.

BTW, it is not a paid league I understand but my exhibition league filled up within hours.  All teams had at least 18.5k mins and there were no "79 Nuggets" teams.  I used the one I posted which included Bird's rookie year, prime Ewing, prime Peja, over the hill Keem and solid shooters.

I guess we will be forced to use more McAdoos and Dumars' and less Rodmans.  I can live with that after 2.5 years of seeing Ray and Moses at the top of every league.  I know Barkely is your guy Ash, but some guys may like Iverson, Baylor, Roy and Zeke.  To limit NBA history to 10 or 12 guys is absurd.  I've seen a jump in the themes recently and maybe they will pickup again.  See you all back here next year.

new sign ups have been faltering for 5 years, hell they didnt release the 09-10 players for 5 months I think we can assume the following:

agree

This really tells me nothing.  Exhibition leagues are in no way anything close to a real league.

I guess we will be forced to use more McAdoos and Dumars' and less Rodmans.

McAdoo was a popular player before.  Dumars not so much.  I think McAdoo will be much harder to use now anyway.

I can live with that after 2.5 years of seeing Ray and Moses at the top of every league.

Ray was overplayed and not near as good as everyone made him out to be.  I'm fairly confident I proved this over and over the past 6 months.

I know Barkely is your guy Ash, but some guys may like Iverson, Baylor, Roy and Zeke.

These guys still suck.  All it did was make it harder to build around them.

To limit NBA history to 10 or 12 guys is absurd.

I agree.  I'm not sure how this is relevant, however.

I've seen a jump in the themes recently and maybe they will pickup again.  See you all back here next year.

Maybe.  Good luck, man.
