defense being over-valued was a huge issue in the current version of the sim, though.

ON THAT NOTE...

Where's the new def rating formula coming into play?  I still see 08-09 Troy Murphy as a 96 def rating.  That in itself leads me to believe you still have def reb% in the formula, and it absolutely should not be for what you use def rating.
thats the reason to increase offensive values it would help balance out the players.

just for starters it doesnt bode well that Moses, Rodman and Sir Charles have seen big drops in salary - they are in heavy rotation because they're such bargains as it is so it seems like they're headed the wrong way
Agreed with this one Seble I think having less weight to defense is the way to go.  But now I think you should give more weight to rebounding.  Also in regards to the actual defensive ratings themseleves they are still this same, is the a plan to adjust these?  For example Troy Murphy 08-09.......

why couldnt you raise the value of offensive characteristics without lowering the value of defensive ones? the problem has been the imbalance - i.e. not that defense costs too much but that it costs too much  relative to offense

of course you could always just increase everyone by a set percentage to calibrate salaries to fit the 42 cap

Whatever works the best.  Reason I said rebounding is pretty much you know the results you are going to get.  Hence the reason defense is over valued.  But offense characteristsics is a another measurable statistic.

So far I have

- Raise weight on rebounding
- Raise overall

I will try to pull down the data for how many teams are using each player record and add that to the next version of the spreadsheet.

Gotta fill out your squad with a scrub- he must be a good one.

One thing that stands out on that Top 100 list: Not including the scrubs, from the 60s & 70s, there's only a few Wilts, 1 Russell and 1 Moses season.

Is there any way to filter that list to include only guys w/ at least a $3.5 or $4 mil salary?

(edit: I miss using and playing against the old guys, whatever happened to Logo, Big O, Elgin, Hondo, Dr. J, etc)
