I'm over 40 and I'm still not sure what that has to do with it.

Are Trump/Cruz supporters going to protest their non-nomination and refuse to vote for any Republicans in any election or not?

If so, why didn't they do it before?
Who knows - No one under 75 has ever seen a contested convention go to the 2nd ballot... but with Twitter and Facebook it would not be too hard to stage a revolt if Trump/Cruz wanted to. Four years ago Egypt was toppled in 2 weeks by online activism and social media... it was so bad the gov't actually shut down the internet there before being overthrown.

The USA is not some 'tarded up country where that's going to happen. You're more delusional than we thought if you actually think that could happen.

I'm not saying that Trump and Cruz will lead a bloody revolution... but if Egypt can topple a govt in 2 weeks using twitter and facebook then certainly Trump/Cruz (or their supporters) could mount a pretty solid #dontvote campaign come November - if they chose to.

But again - Trump will get 1237 on the first ballot, so it's a moot point.

If you don't learn from history, you are doomed to repeat it.

Twitter and Facebook probably does make people dumber. But, again, any reasonable conservative is not going to serve up the WH, Senate and HoR to the liberals because they're mad that Trump wasn't the Repub nominee.

Do you consider yourself a reasonable conservative?

An NBC News/SurveyMonkey online poll released on the day of the Wisconsin primary shows GOP front-runner Donald Trump’s national support has dropped by 3 points.

Trump remains at the front of the pack, but his support among Republicans surveyed is now at 45 percent, down from 48 percent last week, according to the poll.

Sen. Ted Cruz trails behind Trump with 28 percent support, and Gov. John Kasich has 18 percent support, according NBC News. The poll was conducted online March 28-April 3 with 14,071 adults aged 18 and over, including 12,116 registered voters.

Not bad, considering he had a 'bad week' of media abuse. ^^^

So not reasonable? Because that would make sense if you think a protest non-vote from the Repub side would make sense to conservatives.

I can see Trump encouraging his mouth-breather followers to mount a #dontvote campaign because he's a petulant "I'm taking my ball and going home" kind of person who wouldn't think twice about a "burn everything down" retreat if and when he gets shot down at the RNC. (As an aside, those are exactly the kids of qualities that we should NOT want in a President). And I'm sure of number of them, such as yourself, actually would.

But while I also don't like Cruz, I don't see him doing that. It would be foolish to blow up your own party just because they're trying to look at the bigger picture, and you're not the featured part of that.

Says the guy who won't go out and vote if Trump is the nominee.

it doesn't have to make sense for the voters..... People vote or don't vote for all sorts of reasons. Hannity asked his audience last night how many people wouldn't vote if Trump doesn't get the nominee.... The large crowd cheered and at least a 3rd of them raised their hands.

I'm suggesting the risk is way too high for the establishment if they were to try and get a 3rd candidate nominee, especially in a year where outsiders are clearly popular. Trump and Cruz have the leverage. Maybe Cruz plays nice since he still has a job in the Senate.... But Trump loses nothing. He's a billionaire who's already shown he will do or say anything and punches back when provoked.

I'm reasonable. Trump is a horrible Presidential candidate. If I had a major real estate project, especially a high-end resort-type thing, I'd want him in charge. He's a fine promoter and he obviously has plenty of experience in that sort of thing. He has no experience as a politician, something you HATED about Obama, and, as you say, will say/do anything. That's a horrible quality for the POTUS.

As tec said, "burn it down" would be something Trump would do if not nominated. Again, a horrible quality for the POTUS. Everyone but Trump "fans" know this.

Trump has waaaaaaay more experience than Obama. He's 69 years old, has built a $10 billion international company, employed 10s of thousands of people, and negotiates for everything (including Union negotiations).

I found this article insightful.... Done good, sooner bad. I'm willing to take this risk whereas you are content with business as usual.

Political experience is not the same as being old. Obama, when elected, was 6 years younger than me. I would not be a good President. In part because I'm more like Trump than I'd like to admit.

The most honest, truthful, and reasonable thing I have ever seen Mike post. (Obviously not a POTUS candidate with that kind of action.)

Yet Trump doesn't understand basic policy. He doesn't understand what the nuclear triad is. He vowed to save Medicare $300 billion a year on prescription drugs when they spend less than half of that. He said women should be punished for abortions. He doesn't have a clue. He just pulls **** out of his ***.

Being born rich doesn't make you qualified to be president.
