Well, the Republican party was pretty busy destroying itself, as tec noted, when Trump arrived. He simply finished the job. It's splintered and will never make in-roads is the party becomes Trump-like. His clowning is not "Presidential". I have NO IDEA why he was able to get away with it and Rubio, responding in kind, saw his chances disappear within minutes.

I am one of those who has said, repeatedly, that the public will tire of the Trump circus for months. Even if it survives the RNC, I think he's soulcrushed by the 2nd worst Presidential candidate Hillary.
How can you have NO IDEA. Bernie10025 just explained why it's working for Trump. He's telling it like it is... **** PC!!
Yes, the world did a complete 180 over the last 3 months.

54% of republicans say the party should just back Trump.... 33% say they should bring in sometime else if contested
http://www.politico.com/blogs/2016-gop-primary-live-updates-and-results/2016/03/poll-gop-voters-unite-trump-221144

Exactly why Trump will be the nominee even if it's a contested nomination
From Bloomberg.....

A Bloomberg Politics national poll shows 63 percent of those who have voted in this year’s Republican primaries and caucuses, or plan to do so, back the billionaire’s view of the nominating process and think the person with the most delegates should win, even if he lacks a majority.
You realize if that were the case Lincoln would never have been nominated?

Just checking.

you realize social media didn't exist in the 1860's and information is disseminated much faster and broader than ever before. you also realize Lincoln traveled by horse and buggy... and died over 150 years ago. Way to streeeeeeeeeeeeetch to prove your point, smart guy. Can you find something more recent please?

When is moy gonna post the most recent poll that shows Kasich destroys Hillary, Cruz squeaks by Hillary and Hillary soulcrushes Trump?

Still mad Trump "soulcrushed" every Republican candidate you kept switching to after the one you previously supported quit?

The man is a TOTAL wildcard, like no other candidate ever seen, and nobody knows what he or his supporters will do. Those pretending they do, who continue to make blanket statements about him, just continue to be proven wrong. Maybe that's not a good thing, but it sure in the heell is interesting and has hopefully changed the way many will view Party lines going forward.

Those jokers have to get past Trump if they want to get a shot at Hillary.... and that's not going to happen.... and I'll care more about the Trump v Hillary polls once Trump starts on her... until then, Whoooooooooooooo cares!!!??!

Donald Trump has roared into the lead in the upcoming California Republican primary, bolstering his hopes of winning the GOP nomination and avoiding a nasty convention fight, a new poll has found.

In the first independent survey since it became apparent that the Golden State will play a major role in deciding the Republican presidential nominee, the nonpartisan Public Policy Institute of California found that Trump has the support of 38 percent of likely voters, while Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is favored by 27 percent. Ohio Gov. John Kasich placed a distant third with 14 percent.

I assume you care. You've posted every favorable Trump poll for 6 months.

But, assuming you don't care, if you're the RNC and you see that Kasich/Cruz can beat Hillary while Trump cannot, what would you do at the convention(assuming Trump comes up short on delegates)?

How many times have I said, and trump himself said, he hasn't even started on hillary yet? You're poll is the equivalent to saying Villanova is going to beat Miami today, yet the game hasn't even started. It will be much more of an accurate statement after the 1st half has been played.

It's more like saying Villanova is heavily favored to beat Miami and yet you are insisting that Miami will add Lebron James to the roster before the game starts.

The teams are who they are. There's nothing Trump can say about Clinton that will sway a likely Clinton voter to vote for Trump. And vice versa.

wrong... I'm insisting that AFTER the game starts you might see Josh Hart get injured and Kris Jenkins in early foul trouble. You might see McClellan have a dominant game or Miami's bench hitting 3s.... maybe momentum swings away from 'Nova. You'll have a MUCH more clear picture of what's going to happen by halftime than before the game starts... and TRUMP HASN'T EVEN STARTED ON DULL HILLARY YET!! The whole reason I don't bet is because more times than not people making bets end up losing. You're insisting Hillary wins in a landslide. I'm saying 'not so fast'... you are underestimating Trump.

Have the polls been wrong about Trump yet?
3/24/2016 11:29 AM
And you are right in a sense, there's a decent chance Trump won't even get to play in the game.

Just look at any polls over time and you will see ebb and flow. they are not linear, or stagnant. In Jan/Feb Bush was the favorite, in March/April Walker was the favorite, in May/June it was Bush again...... At one point Carson was the favorite.
More important than momentum NOW is who has the momentum in OCT/NOV when voters are about ready to vote. You are suggesting that because Hillary has momentum now she is likely to have it in November - maybe that holds true, maybe not. Hillary was supposed to win the Democratic nomination in a landslide back in June and old man Bernie has really given her a run for that nod.
3/24/2016 11:43 AM
Trump has been the favorite in the polls essentially since he announced. There hasn't been any ebb and flow. Early last year it was Walker/Bush/Etc. Then it was Trump and only Trump.

The same polls show him getting destroyed in November.
