Sure.  Go ahead.
He is very stupid if he doesn't think radical Islamists were angered by the US in Afghanistan.

Is that what he's implying?

We invaded both countries as a response to 9/11. Only one of them is the main operating area for ISIS.

How stupid are you?
Yeah, you're pretty dumb.

The invasion of Iraq was not a response to 9/11.  The Bush Administration pushed for it on the basis of Iraq possessing WMD, supposed links between Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda, and the belief that Iraq was a threat to the US and it's allies going forward.

All of that was on the TV news as well.

But nice try in your effort to rewrite history.  Better luck next time.

He's very stupid.  No need to further qualify that with a reason.

I'm not sure he even knows what he's arguing.  I think he's arguing just for the sake of arguing.

Well, I'm sure he's arguing because he took a stupid stance and will not back away from it.

Because that's what he does.

BL figures its better to argue over who caused the situation.... That deflects from the real issue of who's ******* it up even more today. Congrats Mike and Tec, you fell into the trap.

I think we know pulling the troops from Iraq before it was stable was a really stupid move.     I can't recall the saying but if you create a vacuum, something will fill that vacuum.   In this case, it was Al-Queda's more evil cousin.    And that vacuum was created by Obama.

I already said that Bush and Cheney were looking for an excuse to go to war against Iraq.  9/11 made it a lot easier to fabricate one.  But when the war actually started in March 2003, 9/11 was not given as one of the reasons for the war.  Because it wasn't.

How stupid are you?

If you want to read about why we went to war against Iraq, here's a summary:

Well, if we hadn't decided a military response was the correct action following 9/11, and had done nothing instead, ISIS wouldn't exist.  Al Q'aida is bigger now than it was then, but that might have happened anyway.  So I guess we can just blame ISIS on our military activities in the Middle East.

So yeah, doing nothing would have been better.  Unambiguously so.

You know what, **** it. I'll let dahs speak for himself.

dahs, were you talking about Iraq or Afghanistan here?
