Obama: Worst President Ever? Topic

No, but it's not a secret that a lot of people view conservatives as stupid.

It's obviously not true of all conservatives, but an ideology that denies science and supports people like Palin and Trump probably deserves that reputation.
To be more accurate, it's a lot of liberals (not "a lot of people") who view conservatives as stupid.

Just as a lot of conservatives view liberals as stupid.

Case in point: you're a liberal.  Many of us are convinced that you're stupid.

See how that works?

On another note, in your mind, does "liberal = Democrat", and "conservative = Republican"?  Are those terms interchangable?

Depends on the context. Sometimes the terms are interchangeable, sometimes they are not. I'm guessing dahs doesn't know what party raucous belongs to, but it seems like he's a conservative.

No, but it's not a secret that a lot of people view liberals as stupid.

It's obviously not true of all liberals, but an ideology that denies common sense and supports people like Obama and Hillary probably deserves that reputation.

Both Parties are freakin' ridiculous in their extremes. That's why this Country will continue to sink further until a new 3rd Party comes-along. Representatives from Michigan voting against the auto industry and Representaves from Iowa voting against farmers, to appease their Party, is NOT Democracy. In a Democracy those Representatives would be voting to benefit the people who elected them.

What we're doing with this 2-Party garbage is simply picking the least-of-all-evils to be the face-of-blame for the next 4 years, as the Country continues to divide into the haves and have-nots..

I don't think liberals deny common sense. I think conservatives push ideas as common sense (ex: if you lower personal income taxes on rich people their businesses will hire more employees) that just aren't true, let alone common sense.

Conservative don't like Obama but he's been a success as President.

Nobody thinks "their side" lacks common sense.

As somebody who's pretty much in the middle, I can see the idiocy of both sides.

Trust me . . . there is little to no difference in the amount of stupidity, and decrease in common sense, the further you move from the middle, whether it be to the left or to the right.

All3 is spot on with his comments about the two party system in the US.  It's become polarized, with nobody to represent the vast majority of people in the middle.

Can you imagine how utterly moronic the USA will be if we end up having to choose between Bernie Sanders or Donald Trump in November?

Labeling people as liberal or conservative is just as bad and unproductive as labeling them Republican or Democrat. The vast majority of people are not 100% liberal or conservative anymore than they are (or should be) 100% Republican or Democrat. Can't a liberal Democrat from California have a different viewpoint than a liberal Democrat from Maine? There is just no freakin' need for everyone to be identified by labels or their party. It's divisive and counterproductive.

I think most people, at least people who pay attention and have an opinion on political and social issues self identify as one or the other. Obviously, there are exceptions to this, but it isn't a problem with identification.

That's not going to happen. It's going to be Clinton vs Rubio or Bush. That's the only viable option for both parties and why the two party system will always be around. Candidates at the extremes are unelectable in a general election.

And, tec, I really wouldn't label you as someone in the middle. I've seen you hit on a point or two that would be considered liberal (gun control is the only one I remember) but, most of the time, you argue the conservative side. Maybe that's you playing devil's advocate, but you sure seemed dead set against allowing gay marriage, for a middle east war, for a flat (or flatter) income tax system, anti-drug legalization, pro-life, pro-death penalty, etc.

That's not "middle."

When did I argue in favor of a middle east war?

And seriously, most of my time "arguing" here is spent arguing with you over the stupid things you say.  Since you're a bleeding heart liberal, of course I'm taking the conservative side of the issue, and that's why you see me that way.

But there are many other topics that are not addressed, or I never really see, in these forums that, if I were to argue, I'm be arguing against the far right conservative side.  I've blocked the idiots like moy and a few others, so I'm not even seeing their stupidity.

You're special.  I haven't blocked you.  Your idiocy is oddly entertaining.  You amuse me.  Like a clown.
