Label it however you like. Currently, a subsidy is being provided to certain people who have relatively high incomes. Obama is proposing that we shift that subsidy to people with relatively low incomes.

To me, that's a good idea.
I thought he was supposed to be all about the middle-class now. He's only about the lower middle-class? When is he going to turn on them? He's only got two years left to **** them over.

Me? I don't decide ****. But we elect politicians to decide things like, "who should we subsidize and when?" To me, subsidizing the poor is better than subsidizing the not-poor.

Sorry you might lose your subsidy. I see that you are upset about it. Unfortunately, we can't subsidize everyone.

Those aren't the only two options. There's a third: Don't subsidize anyone.

Sometimes, people have to make sacrifices. Sometimes people have to get loans. It's called being an adult; everything can't be handed to you.

You must have missed this link...

Obama has done more good for the rich than any other president in my lifetime.... Its too bad the majority of poor and middle class are too blind to see past his false rhetoric. Look at the results:

Hasn't Obama always been about taxing someone more to subsidize something?

This is news?

Technically, here he's taking a subsidy from one group and giving it to another.

In this case, he's impacting MY means of sending MY kids to college.  Using the investment vehicle provided by the government, and incentiviized by the government, specifically for that purpose.

It's Obama's bait and switch scam.

However, I take comfort in the fact that this has zero chance of passing through a Republican congress.

But shame on him for trying.

Like I said before, we can't afford to subsidize everyone.

Truth is, I don't care about your ability to send your kids to college.

Perhaps Obama should look at the cost of tuition, much like you suggest he address the cost of medical care, and work on that instead of providing govt incentivized vehicles of investment for you.

Did people waste their time listening to Obama lie for an hour again?

I wonder if teh gays figured out that he hasn't done anything to help them for their vote even though he "promised" to help them?
I wonder if the blacks figured out that he hasn't done anything to help them for their vote even though he "promised" to help them?
I wonder if the middle class figured out that he hasn't done anything to help them for their vote even though he "promised" to help them?

The only thing I have learned under his administration is that everyone needs to be divided up into groups by race, income, gender, and sexual orientation so they can discriminate against some and help the groups fight against each other by fanning the flames.
