Never have heard a radio ad like that here.  It's all about autistic kids and testosterone treatments out here.

It might be because I listen to internet feeds instead of actual broadcast radio.
I get plenty of Low-T ads.    And "If you've been injured in an accident...." but that's another story.

And food stamps.  I'd never heard an ad for food stamps before 2010.   Something along the lines of "You may qualify if........Call....."

That had to be govt sponsored because there's no way for an individual or company to make money off of them.
Eh, they don't have to be.  It can be a scam looking for clicks for a website who's income is based on clicks or someone looking to drop some tracking software on your machine.
Radio ads.  That's where I heard it.   Sports radio.
The economy went to ****. The government wanted to make sure that people who qualify took advantage of the food stamp program.

Never once heard an ad for the lifeline program. And I've also never heard anyone tout it as something Obama provides.

A TON of people here in Chicago think Obama is providing them FREE healthcare - i have no idea how they got that notion, lol. This is going to be interesting to watch when they realize its not free. I've already set up a chair and started popping the popcorn. Exciting times ahead!

Interesting. Are they not getting a bill every month?

I also know a lot of people that mistakenly think obamacare is a government take over of healthcare. Almost all of them are chain-email-forwarding conservatives, though.

Its not fully kicked in yet. For example the mandates for both indiv and employers... And the penalties that elevate each year an individual is not insured. We haven't seen the brunt of the corporate response yet either. That will come.

I agree with you that most think its already govt run healthcare when its simply an exchange with govt subsidies. That's funny too. Just shows how gullible people are if they believe chain emails.... And why they are touted as low information voters.

At some point I do think the US will end up with govt run healthcare but we are still many years away from that.

I disagree. I think the corporate response will be minimal. Most companies provided health benefits before the law required it. No reason for them to stop now.

Based on my experience - many companies are moving to high deductible plans. I.e. first $5,000-$12,000 is out of pocket. That's gonna sting the non-savers which is the majority of people in the US. Hopefully these people are smart enough to use a HSA.

Maybe I'm wrong. We shall see.

Mine, thru my wife's work, went from $500 to $1500.    Office visits and employee contribution also went up.

So the company did continue to provide healthcare.   It just became more expensive while staying less expensive than Obamacare(at least for me).

Isn't it funny how the "Affordable Care Act" actually increased the healthcare costs for most Americans?

I think it's funny that Obamacare proponents are quick to point out that it's not govt healthcare.   Correct, it sure isn't.   But it's subsidized by the govt so tax money is going into it.   And that's what people are complaining about.
Who is getting the subsidy?

May be the case.... You could argue it was already happening and that the intended mandates actually accelerated the process.

But the reality is up until last year my wife's job offered affordable low deductible plans - now they have no low deductible plans. She works at a major hospital.

My employer, a major bank, still offered one low deductible plan but the premiums shot waaaay up. Of course with 2 kids I took the low deductible plan despite the higher premiums. Good thing too since we've accrued over $80,000 in medical expenses this year.
