Me "yes" 

Officer:  "wow, that stuff went out with Pat Boone." 

LOL, I was scared shitless.

I was told "This isn't worth doing the paperwork.  Throw that **** on the ground and get the **** out of here" one time.    4 of us.  One was, wait for it, black.   Good thing I wasn't the only whitey, huh?

No idea.   I think, if a black man and I were sharing a joint when a cop approached, that he wouldn't look at me and say "Get the **** out of here, I'm gonna shoot this darkie and I don't want any witnesses."    Does that sound feasible to you?

Did a black kid die because police officers are being racist ********? Maybe. Maybe not.

Was there a week of mob violence in Ferguson, Missouri because of something that maybe or maybe didn't happen? Yes. That's not good.

My original point was that this was a sad situation overall.  And if it turns out that the shooting of this kid was justified, the African-American community there looks worse, overall.  And the next time Sharpton shows up somewhere without knowing all the facts, more people roll their eyes.  Get your facts straight before you incite violence.

I think you're confused.

The racism most people are referring to isn't, "let's go kill some blacks," KKK style racism.

It's a more subtle, "I'm a cop looking for bad guys, looking extra hard at people my subconscious flags as 'bad'." Or, "I'm a cop and I've pulled someone over who looks like a criminal to me so I'm going to keep my finger on the trigger in case he reaches for his wallet too quickly."

There's data showing blacks get arrested more often despite similar marijuana usage, but you feel the need to reject it out of hand because of some "circumstances".

So we don't have to keep quoting giant posts.

There was a week of protests and riots because the community believes that the cops are racists ********. Evidence, apart from the Brown shooting, seems to validate this belief. The Brown shooting just pushed things over the top.

And the next time Sharpton shows up somewhere without knowing all the facts, more people roll their eyes.  Get your facts straight before you incite violence.

I'm fairly certain Sharpton didn't incite violence.
