I had a dream last night that I was hanging out with Chooch and he spoke perfect English.  I was about to ask him why he spoke so poorly with the media and a bunch of broads came over and he slipped into accent mode and scooped all the *******.

I'll be on board if they build a big lead.  As long as it's all bunched up, though, having the lead only very slightly alters my general feeling about things as dictated by the division situation.  Looking at the Braves remaining schedule...I really hope the Phils build a big WC lead.

Haven't looked at the Braves schedule, but the Phillies schedule is pretty light, with the exception of the current series and that west coast trip, until those last run-ins with the Braves.

Braves have the 6 with the Phils, a series with St.Louis and a series with Colorado and everything else is teams with losing records, I think.  A lot of division games, though, so they'll play tougher than it looks...well...except for the Mets.

Really, the only signficant difference relative to the Phillies schedule is the 2 games the Phillies have left in this series - afterwards, the Phils have that 7 game stretch with SDG/LAD/COL, but other than that it's the Braves, the bottom of the division, or HOU/MIL.

I was informed tonight of a new booze can that does Sunday night karaoke and has a poker table, which if part experience means anything will be full of drunk ATMs.

There's a solid 24 hour diner not far away too. I almost think this whole thing was designed as a trap for me, it's too perfect.

I like a couple of fantasy authors, but the beating the genre takes is generally warranted.

That said, give the TV show a shot anyway.  There's a badass degenerate deformed dwarf, and Dinklage is playing him.  That should be enough to get anyone worth a damn to at least give the pilot a fair shake.
I'm hoping that it's a success, if only so I can then pitch HBO a series based on David Gerrold's War Against the Chtorr. Now that would be epic.
