I imagine it's not the same, for the following reasons:
1. 12 game losing streaks are not that common, and don't usually happen to good teams. A team that's made it all the way to the WS is almost always a good team.
2. Losing 12 games in a row means you've been swept by a few teams. It's possible your team has come up against a few consecutive teams that are just flat out better; the chances of a WS team meeting 12 consecutive superior opponents would have to be much lower.
3. Losing 7(!) of the 12 series after being up 3-0 is just bizarre. I've been in 72 World Series. I've come back from 3-0 once, and never lost after going up 3-0. To me, those 7 3-0 collapses are even freakier than the 0-12 record.
