well, there's a theory that I do not believe in.....nobody in this game is "due" for anything, especially after the tiniest of sample sizes (2 starts?). If he got shelled, it was most likely due to the combination of the structure of the other team's line-up and the stadium the games were played in. If those things remained unchanged, then he was more than likely "due" to get beat up again!
Gibson's biggest strength (incredibly low .oav numbers) was easily offset by the +3 rating for hits in Memorial, and his biggest weakness (HR's) would be exploited by the +3 / +3 for HR's in that park.
For me, it all came down to alot of the recent talk about how fatigue doesn't affect players nearly as strongly as it should until they are really low on the stamina scale. After this experience, I'm still not sure I wouldn't make the same choice if the situation presented itself again!
