Everybody is watching.    The NFL asked Brady for his phone and emails.   He refused.    2-4 game suspension.    The NFL let the story out, now they're waiting to hear what the public thinks.   Then they'll act.

I also imagine it will be reduced on appeal.

So...worse than knocking your wife the **** out in an elevator (until the tape becomes public)...but not as bad as getting free tattoos when you're Qb'ing for Ohio State.

Equally as bad as a second rape allegation.

Well, this is it.  They give out arbitrary length suspensions for everything under the sun related to "conduct", then somebody actually does something with intent to cheat at the game - which should be Priority One, right? - and NOW WHAT?

Priority One for the NFL is $$$.

really, this is an on field issue so it should be in line with PED use......abuse, rape, tattoos should have their own punishment code

I have to agree with that, but like Mike said all they care about is money, which means appearances. No one gave a real damn about the Ray Rice thing till they realized everyone saw the tape.

That's what the 4th rounder in 2017 is for.

"OK, fine, Mr. Kraft... we'll reduce the penalty.  No more 4th rounder.

I've modified my thinking on this issue a little. A friend showed me an article at sharpfootballanalysis.com. If this is at all true the "easier to throw" thing is a huge smokescreen.

The rule allowing teams to prepare their own footballs was passed in 2006.
In 2007 the Patriots hired this McNally dude, "the deflator."
From 2007 till now the Patriots have fumbled at a FAR lower rate than before, and than any other team in the NFL.

NOW - with stats and timeline to back it up - THIS is a rat I think smells far worse.
