#51 Trades Q. What is the trading block?
  A.

The trading block is the league-wide collection of players that are currently being dangled by league owners. The list of players on the trading block may be viewd on the GM -- Trading Block page.

An owner may add or remove a player from the trading block at any time on the GM -- Team Roster page. Please note - you will not be able to see your own players on the trading block, but the other owners will be able to see them.

#52 Trades Q. Can I trade minor leaguers?
  A. Most definitely. Anybody and everybody can be traded away. You can free some payroll by dumping veterans for prospects. Or you can burn that available cash by trading away a prospect for a superstar.
#53 Trades Q. Do trades have to be even (1-for-1 or 2-for-2)?
  A. Heck no! Uneven trades are permitted. 2-for-1, 3-for-1, even 3-for-none is allowed. Cash is just as important as players in some situations.
#54 Trades Q. Are there any roster-related limitations for trades?
  A. Yes, after a trade is completed you must have at least 22 players on the active roster, with at least 12 being position players and at least 6 pitchers. You'll be informed of these restrictions if your trade proposal violates any of the requirements.
#55 Trades Q. Are there any financial limitations on trades?
  A. Add up salary you're trading away, subtract salary you're receiving and make sure you have room in your budget. But all this is calculated for you when you build your trade proposal, so you'll always know where you stand on budget issues.
#56 Trades Q. How will I be notified of new trade proposal information?
  A. Any time new trade proposal information is available, your Team Center, League Office and GM's Office will display a green Trade icon next to the team. Please click on this icon to be taken to the Trade Proposal page in the GM's Office.
#57 Trades Q. Can a trade be vetoed? How long do I have to wait before a trade is completed?
  A.

It sure can. As soon as a trade proposal is agreed upon by both sides, a 24-hour owner approval process begins. During this time, each owner may choose to approve or reject the trade proposal. After the approval period expires, the votes are tallied and the trade is either completed or vetoed. A veto requires at least 6 owners to reject the trade.

Remember, your veto vote isn't a secret! The owners will see who approved and who rejected a trade. Who knows how this could affect your future wheeling and dealings?

#58 Trades Q. What happens to my lineup after a trade? How are newly acquired players' roles determined?
  A. For any players traded away, lineup or rotation spots are cleared. You'll need to go in and make the necessary changes to fill in those blanks. Any acquired position players on the active roster are placed on the bench. New pitchers are set to rest.
#541 Trades Q. I am waiting for a trade to go through and it still says pending. It has been well over 24hrs. Any ideas?!!
  A. There is a 24 hour veto period and if one of the players involved in the trade is one of the teams' next starting pitcher, the trade won't go through until this is no longer the case, which is typically another 8 hour period.
#675 Trades Q. I traded for a player right before the transaction deadline and now he is in the minors and I can't bring him up. How can I bring him up?
  A. After the transaction deadline, no moves can be made so make sure the player you are drafting for is where you need him.
