No outliers on the good side by the formula.  It likes CUA despite the low upper class count; it puts too much on the top 3 REB in the post-potential era.

10-4, RPI 8.  What a difference a year makes; this year we scheduled much, much better and slightly overachieved in nonconference.  Evans is a beast and graduates, but the rest of the starting 4 return.  The FR (Creagh and Streater) are low start/high upside guys who aren't really shooting up enough to look like they'll contribute before they are in their 3rd season.  The good news is that Hopper (check out the SPD/PE/BH/P improvements) is Leaping up the ratings chart and Page and Baird also look like Super sophs.  The high LP SFs (Bourget and Page) with the 2 monster SPD/PE G's (Williams and Hopper) will make setting defenses against CUA difficult the next two years.  Worth noting that the sub-par ATHs keep this team's ceiling as a S16 team.

6-8, RPI 193.  With 2 players going ineligible at the term's end, this team is going in the wrong direction.  There are some pieces here to like, but only 3 G's and 2 "big" will be back next year.  Salisbury can't take another whiff on Season 56 recruiting.

12-3 RPI 21.  A tribute to Dr Dreiling's Chronic excellence that this team could lose 2 90 PE guys and still look like a top half seed for the NT.  Interesting that Edelman did nothing to try to even out his G/Big class disparity.  His graduating bigs will leave Fisher as the returning rebounding King.  Of the FR G's, McBride is the farthest from the Goldman, with very little improvement.  Not sure what he brings to the table dwarfed by the other 3 (particularly Echavarria and Jones).  The FR SF's look solid, Bragg's development is definitely worth Bragging about, though both look to cap out in the mid 20's on REB.

7-7, RPI 138.  Koop goes 7-3 in nonconference with 1 very nice W (Carnegie Mellon), but 6 W's against worse teams than he can probably handle with ease.  Among the improvements, check out the Numbers on Numbers… double digits on DE, LP, PE, BH, and P?  Noggle JR anyone?  How he will play with 90+ D and the rest of that package, might make him the best player in the CAC as a SR.  Check out the returning squad here: the Matthew/Polanco/Numbers/Moore/Hope starting 5 is a little weak at the 4/5 (particularly in LP), but an NT core with an NT bench.  Scheduling opponents with projected 150-200 RPIs (which this squad should have no problem with) could even lead to a nice seed.  Collins doesn't have much upside, but last year's RS at least got him offcycle with Numbers.  Brown's WE dip  from the Red Shirt (29 down to 20) makes me a little Blue about his upside, but he gives them some needed presence in the Paint.  He has no Hope of meeting Hope's upside which is substantial.

12-2, RPI 4.  Wow.  A lot to like here, particulary considering there are only 2 SRs; how many teams have 5 guys with 70+ PE?  Add in 2 players with 80+ LP (both near 140 on combined ATH/REB).  Just fun stuff.  Nick Ellis Island's motto: "Bring me your high potential SRs, longing to be free."  What's not to like?  The FR don't have well-rounded upside and there are no classmates for Timinisky who might get 100 distribution his senior year.  His points per minute stats are amazing.

12-3, RPI 11.  Machine Gun Kelly is the leader here (162 REB+PE), but another team with only 2 SRs.  I like Gassaway as a pass-first PG and how Patterson and Desantis has developed so far, but it's not too early to notice that the REB ratings of the FR and SO's are not so good.  This team is built for this year and next year and have to be considered Elite 8 contenders this year and the next.

12-5, RPI 7.  This is a very good team.  The Young/McCartha SPD/PE combos look a lot like the highly successful Chapman backcourts of recent past championship vintage.  I can also give Bell and Ringing endorsement.  The bigs are a cut below that troika, but they go 4 deep able to rebound/defend and 2 deep as scores.  That's a good enough core to hope for a Final 4.  On the improvement/future side... Great Scott! is 2nd in the CAC in year over year overall improvement here; he's obviously Sky's in LP and PE and will be as good as a mediocre ATH SF can be.  You have to like how West's profile is developing.  His SPD, particularly will be very nice for a big.  All the true FR have some low starting points (REB for Lamons, P for Moise, and ST for Stansell) that are all high and some medium and high stuff that isn't.  None of them project as good as the current starters with possible exception of Moise.  To get a G with that much SPD/ATH and D while having upside on PE and P is quite a catch.

7-11, RPI 99.  Back to double digit RPI for McCabe.  This would be a pretty good group to sneak into a PIT; only returning 2 G's makes it pretty hard to get much done, even if Hedin's profile is Headin' in the right direction to make him the pre-eminent CAC scorer this season.  Clark, Bar none, is the star among the FR G's; 60+ BH/P to start and big upside on PE.  The DEF also has needed upside.  Wallace is the other neat profile with upside in PE, ATH, D, P and BH.  Even though the SPD is tapped out, they can take his upside, but they can never take his 77 Speedom.  Hartman is a very, very odd profile.  I'm not sure I've ever recruited a G where SPD+PE+BH+P<100 much less 70.  He obviously profiles as a SF.  He still won't get the true G skills very high, but has massive upside in ATH, SPD, REB, DEF, LP, and PE.  Should be interesting to see how it plays out.  The true FR big (Forbes) might not make anyone's top 500 list, but with that ATH and high REB, he can overcome a low LP with the right complementary players.

6-12, RPI 162,  TitanFan reenters the CAC with a barrne, but not bare, cupboard.  Let's look beyond this year: The 4 returning G's all have speed, a couple can defend, a few can shoot, the true FR (Bolduc) has big upside is SPD and PE to go with nice ATH; on the other hand, none of them will get their P ratings above 60 in the next 2 seasons.  The SFs both are well rounded profiles; neither Hannan nor Hamman is the Feast of Purim of famine type of I prefer with Sky's upside in LP or PE.  The bigs aren't quite ready for the NT with Banks's ROI limited by his low ATH and Wilbur's REB will make sure he gets Ribbed by his teammates for not making more Bacon on the boards.  A guy with high ATH/REB/BLK but sacrificing everything else should be next year's recruiting priority.  Worth noting the massive SPD/PE improvements Salberg made in hte last year.  80/80 with nice BH/DEF is not out of the question

12-6, RPI 102.  Magneto has a tough road to sneak out a PIT bid; With only 2 SRs, they don't have the big man depth or ATH or DEF to compete with the big boys of the South.  There is reason for optimism.  Check out the improvements-- I don't think anyone else has 5 60+ OVR guys.  Shipman's profile highlights a magneto trait of getting G's who can rebound.  That Shipman is also a 70/90 SPD/PE as a Sophomore and can pass is just a bonus.  Speaking of +60, Hartman is already +60 OVR for this season as a FR.  He could/should be the fine 3rd wheel among the bigs when they challenge for a postseason appearance next year.

12-6, RPI 49.  This is definitely an NT team, even if there is only 2 SRs and 5 FR on the roster.  There is enough ATH, SPD, PE, and DEF to give problems once there, though the low Iqs and relatively low REB and LP make anything beyond the S16 unlikely.  Graber is the attention Grabber among the frosh.  50/85/70 in ATH/REB/LP as a sophomore is not out of the question.  Turner's profile is a lot like Moise from York; my Thesis?  His Frontier is expansive, but utility limited by his ST.  The other two FR are lesser SPD guys than Hood usually runs out there; no need to get to Blue over Hill or unNeighborly with Rogers, both have mad PE to offset those limitations.

10-8, RPI 25.  It will be close for SMM to get the 14 wins to make the NT.  The SRs are pretty special; it'd be a shame not to leverage Smith and Mateo's last years into NT wins.  The improvements of Brumback and Anderson give some hope for relevance beyond this season.  Butler was a Coop recruit (against my advice), but the 99 WE has paid off and overridden the concerns I had around his REB, BH and P.  That he picked up 2 REB despite low potential I think is a WE byproduct; worth tracking if it keeps going up.  The 3 FR are entirely upside plays; Severino has the Pass-first PG platter: high SPD/BH/P (low everything else).  Whitely is a fun one since he's high REB after starting in the 50's.  He will get PF minutes next year while Waxman and Butler share the SF minutes.  Allen and Butler are high REB, sky's LP guys.  Butler's got the advantage as FR between that pair, more of the Tool Man than Allen; since they are close otherwise, the ATH/SPD flops between the two should be instructive.

Where last year, the formula saw parity, this year it sees bimodal distributions with MW and CUA dominating the north and York, VJ-RIP, and the Hood fighting for the South.  I'd be surprise if both Russell T and I finish with more than 12 wins (the formula is still holding to the archaic value of REB that I built it with), but the overall scale of things feels about right.

10-2, RPI 8.  A legit Sweet 16 team (And needing to make a run at least that far one of these seasons), there isn't quite the D or big man ATH to make a really deep run.  Tanouye in some ways is the foil to all the cautionary tales around low WE guys (he came in at 19).  He had high SPD, PE and P and went 20-35 points in all 3 with the help of a RS year.  Maybe Tanouye provides hope to the FR who I am down on.  I was left to Get Carter when I couldn't find anything else even decent.  He's got upsdei in ATH and SPD, but his PE would get above 50; paired with a real scorer, that might play, but with Creagh as a backcourt mate, I need a shooter desparately in next year's class.  Wojtanowksi (not to be referred to as Wojo by ANYONE) is a anachronistic choice for my team for more reasons than his name.  He's a low REB with High ATH, SPD, and hi-hi LP.  Again, his selection and the lack of sophomore bigs necessitates getting a 90+ REB next season.  Worth noting that Hopper's +23 and Creagh's +18 were the two highest + passing marks in the CAC in this report.  Worth noting a combination of intentional recruiting and Williams' improvement has removed some of the big FT weakness that cost CUA last year.

4-8, RPI 241.  Year 1 of the aejones experience for the Steaks.  He's going to have to be Stout to hold up here in the CAC.  The rebuild starts immediately with only 3 SRs (1 of real quality) and 5 FR.  The FR look like they could form the core of at least an PIT run when they are JRs.  Escobedo presents a Clear and Present Danger to the rest of the conference with the nice starting SPD and high potential in ATH, DEF, PE, and BH.  His like starting backcourt mate would be Reneau, capable of Driving the lane with his ATH/SPD package and upside in BH/P.  Holdworth will likely use defense to Hold his Worth; he looks like hi-hi PE and could pass Reneau when they are upper classmen.  The bigs are the Rebounder (Hulburt) destined to go 90+ with his 50 Low ATH and scorer High ATH, SPD, PE, and with a nice starting LP.  Great first class considering prestige.  Despite the moppish on court performance, notice has been served.

8-5, RPI 34.  Ridiculous talent in the lower classes (1 JR, 1 SR).  Particularly check out the across the board ATH and DEF profiles.  Then move on to Jones' improvement (that's a hard one to Keep up With) and Bragg's 7 categories with +9 or greater.  That's something to Bragg about.  The FR look great; Gay's got to be Happy with +6 season to date in  DEF, BLK, LP and +4 ATH.  The big trio is definitely weaker than the backcourt, but in Findlay you can see a player who will get 60 ATH/90 REB before the Course of his career ends; Hinderberger won't Blow Up in anything but provides REB muscle for now and profiles as a solid bench playwe when Findlay and Marchant (already +10 LP) mature.

9-3, RPI 64.  This is probably an NT team; I don't think the RSing of Laskosky (high in PE/BH/P) really hurts that much this year.  Whether their schedule (weak OOC, strong in conference) is a help or a hurt with the new playoff rankings is something I don't totally get yet.  The Numbers that should jump out here belong to Numbers who profiles a lot like Kyle Noggle with obscene, balanced ratings -- Noggle better REB, Numbers better on D-- with upside still in LP and PE.  Moore is still progressing a ton as well and even without elite LP helps provides big man skills for this year and next.  What can Brown (RS FR) do for koop?  Porvide the ATH/LP package that it needs to complement Householder (nice base, upside in ATH, REB, LP).  With Donohoe improving still, team should sit on the NT/PIT bubble again next year.

12-0, RPI 11.  The Defending National Champion. Congrats Rusticity on your 1st title.  Someone needs to explain to you that you are supposed to fall off after an NT championship.  The obscene ATH/SPD combos with the scoring of Timinsky (more than a point a minute over the last 2 seasons) and the SR bigs (2 with 90+ LP!) make a back to back a possibility.  Rusticity's ability to dabble successfully in the JUCO Arts is part of what distinguishes his style and keys his success.  His one this year (Waite for it... Waite for it...) isn't quite the monster some of his predecessors were, but the FR Great Scott! and Duffield (High SPD, ST; low everything else) have nice starting profiles.  I think Scott's the real deal; not sold on Duffield ever being elite.  With 5 SR's, the future is the present both in terms of winning now and recruiting successfully this offseason.

11-2, RPI 26.  This is another win-now team with 5 SRs and some real holes (REB, perimeter shooting until Gray's Blue SPD/ATH combo gets higher) facing in the near future.  I do like Gray (a lot more than my FR G, for example) and his skills syncs well with Gassaway.  Of the 3 FR bigs, Dudgeon should be able to be Unshackled early with 60+ High LP and the RS Desantis 61 LP with upside still.  Early should make an interesting SF next year, with skills that enable wrono to go 3 bigs to help with the lack of 80+ REB next year.

11-6, RPI 7.  This teams doesn't look as formidable as some of the recent York squads but has a decent shot at the elite 8 and could make a final 4 with the right match ups (avoiding a good press team or deeper uptempo team would help).  McCartha Will Return next year… which is obscene.  Even losing 3 quality seniors, I think next year's team will be better than this year's with all G's returning, Scott filling Bell's role, and West developing to an elite player and Lamons continued development (check out the improvements in ATH, REB, and LP) from liability to force off the bench.

5-13, RPI 169.  McCabe has no seniors and only 1 JR on this squad, so the performance this year is really pretty impressive.  The improvements are nice.  The RS FR "Mayor" Dinkins going + double digits in the G skills cats is particularly nice.  "Hi, my name is Robert Hartman, you may remember me from such accomplishments as emerging  as a legit D3 star SF and improving 8 or more points in 7 categories."  There still are some long term LP issues and REB shortfalls, but enough talent for McCabe to feel good about what he has accomplished to date.  Among the FR, Joe Lewis ("he's 137 years old, no lie" profiles as a perimeter monster at SF and Carballo profiles with LP upside, how high that goes is important.

3-15, RPI 233.  Only 1 SR here.  It will take some time for llad to get this squad together.  Keep it mind that it could be worse, since Plath is a Bell Jar Half Full for a Sim AI recruit.  The FR look nice; the bigs supply rebounding--not to get to Pert, Steve is Rushing to a monster ATH/REB/DEF profile, no matter what Subdivisions you look at and Fanning sacrifices that ATH upside for a a healthy dose of LP potential.  The FR G's are an interesting pair; both already over 70 PE with Kaiser projecting about as good as you can with single digit ATH;  and Zeckzer picking up some ATH as well as BH and P.

12-6, RPI 36.  Only 2 SR's here on a borderline NT team.  Impressive job by magneto.  As Wrono pointed out, this profiles like am Edelman team with some monster PE (Shipman is just a fun, fun player) supplemented by REB and LP.  Check out the across the board year-over-year improvements.  Hartman plays the role of Dr Dreiling in that parallel.  His 113 OVR improvement is the CAC year over year leader and looks like a typo.  He'll get 50+ ATH/DEF to go with sky's the limit on REB, LP and BLK.  Taylor, though not making the grades off the court, is certainly getting the job done in the done on the practice floor and profiles as an elite G as a JR.  In the Best of All Possible Worlds, Pangburn's and William's Max rating in REB and LP would be at least in the 70's and this team puts legit top 20 talent on the floor.

13-5, RPI 20.  The Hood puts a nice starting lineup on the floor and has some depth, but probably not enough in the backcourt to match up vs. a solid, deep press team.  Geoff's decided to go long-range happy and thus bury JUCO addition Hecker, where I would opt for increasing his role dramatically against press teams b/c why the heck not?  Long term, this team is probably better next year than this one.  Graber's IMP pattern particularly Grabs one's attention.  He should be the Centerpiece of this offense as soon as next season.  The FR Marchan is a step or two below the typical Hood recruit, with what looks like low REB potential and only a fair baseline starting point.  No Matas for now.

13-4, RPI 23.  This team has overperformed to date; it has very little chance of getting out of the 2nd round, but a solid NT seed is a good outcome.  I don't know about long term as except for Brumback's one more superlative year is the only F4 type talent on the squad.  Waxman and Butler are fun to look at one last time: both RSed and made substantial progress despite as wide a differential in WE as any pair in the CAC (Butler started at 99, Waxman in the mid 20's).    The 3 FR from last year (Whitely, Allen, and Butler) are fun to look at as well since all started in the 50's in REB and the SF is the one who still is green on potential.  The FR are interesting.  Nielsen's Ratings were great, but despite only dropping 8 in WE, he doesn't seem to be improving as much as you would expect (1 point green SPD?) while Lewis has discovered more potential than anticipated to go with a great SPD/P foundation.  Waters has a pretty nice profile and has picked up 7 points in LP and should get to the 60's or 70's before he's Parted from SMM.

Thanks, Andrew.  Good stuff.  I agree about York.  This season's recruiting class is the first one I've liked in a few seasons, so the team has dropped a bit.  Moise turning out to have so many low-highs has killed him as a prospect.  I may even cut him.
