Why in the world is Wemby a 97% at center? He started every game after the spurs benched Zach Collins around game 20 at the center position. After the benching of Collins wembanyama was very rarely played in 2 big lineups the whole season. Am I missing something?

The short answer is that Wemby being 97% at center is obviously insane.

The long answer is that the process by which players are assigned a position is opaque and outdated and often results in bizarre outputs (see Ben Simmons' positional eligibility, for example).
