WIS cookies Frankie Frisch, Arky Vaughan, and Cy Seymour all score 0.2% on the Career .300 AVG column
I used Mike Donlin (0.03), Lloyd Waner (0.5), and Edd Roush (1.0). Can say that my knowledge of Donlin was non-existent before this game.

I figured the Waner's would be too popular, a whole 0.3% higher!

From Joe Posnanski today, on Vaughan:

"I’ve marveled about this before — Arky Vaughan was not an unknown star in his day. He was elected to the All-Star team every year from 1934 through 1942. He received significant MVP consideration on multiple occasions. He led the league in runs three times, triples three times, and he won a batting title when he hit .385 in 1935. His death in 1952 at age 40 was very much in the news, as countless writers talked about what a good person he was and what a tragedy it was.

And yet, the very next year, he got one Hall of Fame vote. One. Admittedly, that was an absurd year when 83 different players got Hall of Fame votes, but still — the way everybody forgot Arky Vaughan was “Memento”-like. I’d say Vaughan is still probably the third-best shortstop in MLB history (depending on what position you have A-Rod playing), and the BBWAA just missed it, totally, completely and utterly. He wasn’t elected until 1985 by the veterans — that was 37 years after he retired."

Even with my Tigs as a category for extra sicko pulls, the MVP column ruined any hopes for single digit scores.

But I did get a Jefry Marte for 0.05%

I blew it today. Bad memory of a reliever's career path cost me a square.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to play previous days? I just discovered this yesterday thanks to this post and now I want to just play more and more

Got single digits today for the first time...an 8. Doubt I'll be able to do that too often

I don’t think it is. Part of the novelty is the once a day grid so people don’t just play it all day and get burnt out and never touch it again after a couple weeks.

There might be a separate website that’ll do that kinda like how WordleUnlimited does, but I’m not certain

Nice! I got a 12, mainly because of a single 8% that really surprised me. I had a great shot at single digits, too.

Anyone else get a little thrill out of dropping one of your favorite SIM players in the grid and see him score a nice low number? That happened for me today with Augie Galan...

Always great when I use someone I only know from this game, yup. I also have little personal goals, like to try to get anyone in a Dodger row who scores under 0.1%. Like, who is so obscure but stuck in my head?
7/23/2023 8:12 PM
Or you use a non-obscure Hall of Famer and get a really low score for him. Can't recall the exact number but I think it was under 1% for player who was both a Met and a Giant...I answered Warren Spahn.

Spahn has been good to you…

I pulled a Rarity of 2 today! Using mostly guys from the 80s and 90s because of all my baseball card collecting (both as a kid and again now going back and buying a lot of old cards in the past 3 years).

I also dropped Goose Goslin on Twins (Senators) and Orioles (Browns). That made me happy. I have to start using more old-time guys just for the heck of it.

I flat out love Immaculate Grid!
