for me it was based on the money i had available to work with once i got to the 5th round and beyond i had to come up with players to meet my minutes and provide some dimensions i was lacking,

To be fair, Rondo has occasionally gone undrafted recently and Allen is often available in the 6th.

That said, yes I’m super pumped about Chris Paul, Kyrie Iriving, and Rajon Rondo tossing lobs to DeAndre Jordan and Shawn Kemp.

Thanks. I would give myself like a B on the effort overall. The toughest thing was figuring out who I wanted to carry the usage load with Lebron. There turned out to be a lot more options than I thought. I had always planned, if doing this, to use Brandon Roy next to Lebron. But I didn't expect to be able to choose among guys like Kobe, Dirk, and (now) Doncic, among several others.

I ended up landing on Doncic and Dirk because the minutes fit together pretty well in a 3-man platoon for the two high usage spots in the lineup (Lebron/Luka at PG, Dirk/Lebron at PF). Plus I think both are good ODL players that I'm surprised went undrafted. But I'm overpaying a bit for usage with Luka, because he's like 6% higher than Dirk and Lebron; my lineups with him are going to often be over 110% usage. And he may shoot me out of some games.

In the end I think I got a little too much tunnel vision on the Lebron/Luka/Dirk triumvirate, though, and didn't spend enough time considering other options. We'll see how it goes.

It's a similar build to one of two I had in mind for your experiment. In my version of this build, I went with Bradley Beal as the other high usage guy; I like him a little more than Luka in this format.

But I agree with your general approach.

The other build I had in mind besides the Beal one was an Amare build but he ended up going towards the end of the draft.

Completely missed Beal. Yeah, he would have been a better usage match than Luka.

1. I didn’t count Lillard as it was his first season. KD was correct. There is one more answer.

I started to guess these, but it would have been mostly a guess. I was pretty sure KD for #1 & Shaq for #3. I would have ventured Kareem either for 2 or 3.
