CLASS Draft for Dummies (Comments & Questions) Topic

I'm a little thick in the head (my wife should know)
KAJ was drafted as a Sr. 1970-71 year
does this mean he's eligible to return for 1972-73 year?
Would he return as a Sophmore?

I'll take my answer off the air

FWIW, I think the return in 72-73 part is correct (HDS1's #2 pick will return in 71-72), but when he is redrafted, it will be as a freshman. All draftees are freshman. • SUBSEQUENT DRAFTS: Three Rounds – All players are FRESHMEN (4 year eligibility)

This is also my understanding

that is CORRECT

all 3 thank you

Upon GRADUATION - (72 Seniors EVERY YEAR)
half of those graduates (36) will be eligible the NEXT SEASON as Freshamn
half of those graduates (36) will SIT OUT 1 YEAR an then be eligible to be a Freshman - (think of them as being in high school that season)

this breaks up outgoing and incoming groups every year -
(although we will have 36 players who are unavailable - it begins to stagger a boom or bust draft class system

the eligibility after a player has graduated is determined by his draft slot (and is noted clearly in each draft) -
that information follows the player in our ALPHA LIST

thanks so much for creating this forum thread for questions and comments

I have contacted admin. about having our own independent forum thread

I would have started that, but my debit card was misused and shut down,
and I will have to wait until midweek to purchase a new season.... (which will enable me to launch our forum site)

How do you determine who sits out?

How do you determine who sits out?
players selected with ODD numbered draft picks (1...7..15...21..etc) are eligible to be 'drafted in Odd numbered years

Players selected with EVEN numbered draft picks (2...6...12...20...etc) are eligible to be drafted in EVEN numbered years

If you look at my draft list -
  • EVERY selection is prescribed with a players class -designation (Sr-Jr-So-Fr)
  • his years remaining with drafting team and (each CAP season and the specific players class that season)
  • when he can be eligible to be drafted again in the future

I plan on getting VERY attached to the underclassmen.

Magic might not have been the best available BUT he doesn't have a useful season past 90-91 so I thought he was perfect for my senior pick

I think there are many different thoughts on what players "should' be Drafted in what round.

I'm more interested in seeing this Draft play-out than I have been in ages.

I think the first two rounds will be more predictable but after that, it'll be a free for all with lots of different strategies employed.
