I think you're right. I probably went too cheap too early, but I still like the composition of my team. Probably should have gone with more mins/production in the 3rd, 4th, or 5th... I was planning on using a guy drafted in the 6th.. not having him available really makes my team look a lot worse. Still not sure exactly what my completed roster will look like. Only had a little time to tinker last night, and am going to finish putting it together tonight. My original roster, with the now ineligible player, looked good at 19520 mins... without him, I'm ending up with more mins, which actually scares me into thinking it's not good enough. To be fair, your analysis was before I drafted Hinrich, who I truly believe is a very good player at this cap (22% usage, 51% efg, 23% ast, 140 3s made at 41%, 80 D, decent TOs, too many fouls) - And great value at the end of the draft... But I still tend to agree with you, anyway.
