25 players who died during their MLB career
I'm not the biggest baseball historian, so this theme made me do some research. There were a lot of causes of death that I found fascinating, but Ed Delahanty's death is downright unbelievable!

Part of the reason I love theme leagues is to learn random stuff like this. Thanks!

And appropriately enough for that theme, Delahanty joined the Phillies as a replacement for Charlie Ferguson, who had died from typhoid fever.

This may not be a winner, but I'll go with Baseball Almanac's list of the 100 oldest living players as my theme. That's effective with today's date; if any dies after today, those would still be eligible for my team.

Can't do it. I just went over the list. The team would be a certain loser. I'll look further for a theme.

Players who wore No. 42 (not counting those who wear it only once a year on Jackie Robinson Day.)
