Glad for your interest evil_twin. The problem with 1 season at a time for any pre-2000 time period is you don't have enough skill position players to fill all 24 rosters. You need 18 players x 24 teams which is 432 players. I think you'd be at least 4-5 players per team short in the '60s even after the expansion. You'd either have to fill a bunch of roster spots with off season scrubs or combine 2 years worth of players into the pool.

Ready to join....especially if progressive...suggest start from first year of super bowl with 24 teams. Keep you players as long as they have season if you want.

I'm fine with roster filler scrubs.  Hell, in my day, I was a roster filler scrub.

I think a 2 year draft pool would be perfect. There would be no worries about *scrubs*. Our benches would actually have players on them that are useful.
The mixing of 2 different eras should lead to many interesting combinations, Unitas throwing to Rice, Manning throwing to Ray Berry, etc.

I'm in!My vote is for starting in 1970 progressing to now.Not enough players once you get into the 40's to 60's.

There will *most likely* be a dual year player pool - 1960 AND 1985 - draft your players from either year, ....some from 60, .....some from 85, ....all from 60, ...all from 85,....................your choice.

Wow, glad to see some interest picking back up. This thread was for getting feedback on how to actually structure the league to get the most interest. I am running an initial draft for a baseball progressive right now and should be finished in a couple of weeks.....I will start putting together an official thread for the actual theme league soon and maybe by the time we're full my other league will be finished with the draft. Definitely don't want to run two drafts at once. Jerry Rice will be batting leadoff and playing CF while John Clarkson will be someone's starting QB throwing 300 passes per game!
