At one point during my research, I considered taking '75 Palmer with my top pick.  Nice one.  I love '75 Ken Singleton.

Palmer had 330 solid IPs and you have to use some of the nominated players.  

Singleton is an option as a team mate.  (Gotta collect those options for the flexibility)

'75 Palmer also has a decent Bobby Grich.  If I didn't already have '85 Herr, I probably would've taken Palmer.  But given that I needed to save cap room at 2B (and I got a stud Mike Scott), the cheap Davey Lopes seemed like the obvious choice for me.
