Baseball-Reference now has box scores going back as far as 1914: www.baseball-reference.com/boxes.
MLB 112304
When you sign up, I'll assign you a random date (via random.org). Go to b/r.com to view the box scores from that date in history.You will be allowed to twist only pitchers who appear in any box score from your date to any season in his career.
Position players seasons must come from the season that the box score was used!
The player could appear as a pinch runner, pinch hitter, etc - as long as you see his name in the box score, he's eligible.
Caveat: I will ensure every date has at least six (6) games played that day to ensure you have a sufficient pool of players to draw from. If not, I will generate a new date. If your day has 3 doubleheaders, then you stuck with those players...luck of the draw.
The particulars: •$100m cap
•No clones, no WW, no trades, no live play
•Yes AA, below average
•Yes DH
*200K-400K players can fill your roster, even if they did not appear in a box score on your date. They must come from your year.
•Ballpark must have been played in on your date
•Alignment - chronological order
•Pitchers cannot be twisted to hitters (the Babe Ruth rule)
The first willing person to sign up can generate my date and post it to the forum (there are a couple of options on Random.org - you can run three random sequences (4-9 for month, 1-31 for day and 1914-2014 for year) or use the date generator (set range to 4-13-1914 - 9/28-2014) - obviously rerun if you get a date that's out of range or with not enough games played.
Are you ready to spin the wheel?
* new waiver rule
