I don't know why that would be a 4 game/million dollar/two draft pick difference. Goodell ****** this up, making a mountain out of a molehill. And now he's going to lose in court.
Lol. He's not going to lose anything in court.

Carolina and Minnesota did it in the open, on the sidelines ... Not behind a locked bathroom door. To me, there's a big difference.
I tend to agree but I'm having trouble justifying it in my head.

Best way I can figure it is I'd have no problem if NE gave the refs underinflated balls hoping to slip them thru.  Yet, when they do it after inspection, it seems dirty.
Totally agree.

I'm sure, if it gets reduced to 2 games and the 4th rounder is reinstated, that Goodell will be unable to sleep for days.   Because he'll be labeled a loser for the rest of his life.

I think it would be one more thing on the 'Goodell has no clue' pile

Agree or disagree with the outcome, most would say this was a massive mishandle by the NFL yet again

History indicates that all suspensions/fines not covered by the NFLPA are reduced.    So I'm sure Goodell, who we'd like to paint as a bumbling fool despite the fact that he's smarter than anyone posting in these forums, takes that into account.

There's just no way he can go "Oh, those sneaky Patriots.  Always looking for an edge" and throw a fine/draft pick loss at them.   Especially since they tend to treat the rule book as toilet paper.

Brady has hired the best labor lawyer in the country. If Brady doesn't win his appeal, he'll file suit and he'll win.

A say this as a certified Patriot hater. **** the Patriots. But this punishment is bullshit and I'd rather the right thing happen to the Patriots than the wrong thing because next time it could be my team.

I will not concede that Goodell is smarter than I am.
5/14/2015 12:41 PM
Well, he's not smarter than me either but I was being humble.

Now quit whining, say "Hell yeah we cheated.  Wanna see our trophy?" and take the punishment.

He signed a contract that he'd abide by the CBA. He didn't. Not sure how he expects to win.

And the patriots rebuttal website is one of the biggest jokes I've ever read. The deflator meant McNally lost weight. Lol.

How did he not abide by the CBA? He isn't required to turn over his personal cell phone, only his team issued phone.

CBA says anything the leagueasks if an official investigation.

I don't think that's true. Even without looking at the CBA, I'm fairly certain that "anything" isn't the requirement.

If Brady doesn't at least appeal you know there is a group out there ready to say "see!!!!!! He didn't even appeal it....that proves he's guilty!!!!!!!"
