I think there is a way out of this. Try this scenario:
Slotterhodge throws the ball at team 1 - catch - Loses 1 player
throws the ball at team 2 - catch - loses 1 player
throws the ball at team 1 - no catch available
I don't see where this is not allowed in the rules. They state you can't throw at someone who just hit you. There's nothing there about a catch. It can be assumed that a catch would be considered the same as a hit, thus you cannot throw at someone who just caught your ball. But if you get caught a second time, then hitting the 1st team on the 3rd throw would not be hitting the team that just caught your ball, thus making that team eligible to be hit.
Commish?
Earlier in the game, I told Reddtrain, whose ball was caught twice, that he could not do exactly that and had to hit someone fresh. There is no loophole.
