Seven decades of greatness in Rupp...lay it on me, what are the preseason things to watch for!
11/23/2013 9:56 PM
I have a question that I can't seem to find the answer for on the FAQ page... It has been a long time since I've played and am wondering what the 'Player Role' function is used for. Can any one give me info on this new feature??
11/24/2013 7:51 PM
The way I understand it, you can apply weights to certain categories by position to determine which recruits fit that position the best.  However, it doesn't take potential into consideration.  It's a tool that kind of allows you to determine which player is a better suited PG, SG...C, again, based on the importance you apply to each category.

So a recruiting tool, got it. Thanks for the info.

My preseason thing to watch for is how I get my *** handed to me in the University......
11/25/2013 1:04 AM
You could also watch for me getting annoyed by all the crappy recruits in states that I've paid for FSS info on.

I am taking a temporary break.

There will be no excuse for Wooster not getting past the second round this season.
11/29/2013 10:49 AM
If you seriously think I'm not capable of both screwing this up by losing in the second round AND coming up with excuses on why it happened, you don't know me very well.
11/29/2013 11:19 AM
I do not like how the AI signed my players.. But who am I to talk?
11/29/2013 9:24 PM
Guys, don't let westcoast fool you! Great coach, terrific recruiting class...which means Trinity can look forward to a couple of beat downs each season! :)

The daily GotN writeups are back, feel free to cry with joy.  Good luck in the new season everyone, let's get to it.

GotN
#11 Texas Lutheran (0-0)(ajlillie) at #6 Willamette (0-0)(bullman17)
First night of the season and we have a nice meeting of ranked teams from the American Southwest and Northwest conferences.  This is the first meeting between these two and the odds-makers have it as an even pick.  Should be a good one.

Also considered: #23 Susquehanna at #14 Ursinus, #4 Merchant Marines at Dickinson, Wittenberg at #13 Greensboro, and #20 Lynchburg at Whitworth

Sim blowout watch: Brandeis is starting the season off in style by being an 81 point home dog against #21 East Connecticut State while Arcadia is getting 76 points at home against #5 Vassar.

Like last year, the ITaLRbHAGotN featured game will return once the conference season starts up.  Try not to miss it too much.
11/30/2013 6:56 PM
Not saying I'm superstitious or anything... But on opening night of last season, I was featured in the GotN... I lost that one, dropped out of the Top 25, and spent the entire season trying to crack the Top 25 again. This is bad deja vu.

I'm still figuring out the roster and recruits on this one - tough game to start the season!
11/30/2013 7:31 PM
The #1, 2, 18, and 22 ranked teams stayed the same after one night, everyone else moved around.  I don't think that means anything and it's not really that interesting, but still.

Last Night
Texas Lutheran 65   #3 Willamette 76
With apologies to ajlillie, my picking his team for the opening night of GotN worked against him again as Willamette defended its home court with a solid 11 point win.  Things started out positive for the visitors when they ran out to a 12-3 lead in the first five minutes but Willamette quickly recovered to come back and surge into a lead of their own halfway through the first.  They were able to stay in front pretty much the rest of the way to secure an opening night win.  Willamette and bullman had three players in double figures and moved up to #3 with the win while Texas Lutheran and ajlillie slip down to the others receiving votes section with the loss.

Also considered: #10 Susquehanna made a ton of free throws down the stretch to get a 69-64 win at Ursinus, #25 Dickinson missed a couple free throws and breathed a sigh of relief when a shot a the buzzer missed giving them a 64-63 victory over Merchant Marines, #16 Wittenberg went on the road and beat Greensboro 73-69, and #12 Lynchburg handled Whitworth 93-80.

Sim blowout watch: Brandeis lost big but still covered against East Connecticut State 47-100 and Arcadia did the same vs #14 Vassar 57-114.

GotN
#2 Wooster (1-0)(pseudochamp) at #5 John Carroll (1-0)(whit6r)
This is easily the biggest game in the history of this series as these two meet for the twelfth straight non-conference season.  Too nervous... can't type...

Also considered: #23 Denison at #9 Hardin-Simmons, #25 Dickinson at #18 Buena Vista, UMass Dartmouth at #13 Wentworth Tech, #17 Penn St. Altoona at Ozarks, and #24 Emmanuel at Mt. St. Joseph

Sim blowout watch: Mount Ida is getting 54 points as they host #8 Emory.
