Splitting hairs defensively and Chavez can't hit off of anybody.  He may hit .220 if you only bat him vs righties. Finish your contract up with Jordan and dump him.

I mean this is like voting between a turd sandwich and a giant douche.

Here's my thinking:   Start with Jordan.   If he's not producing anything, and I don't expect much, send him down and call up Chavez.    Because Jordan has options and Chavez would have to clear waivers if I reversed the roles.

That's the way to go.

I did platoon two similar turd CFs in Mantle mildly successfully, but it was because I didn't have a better option.

The one that was more like Chavez did better. However, 9 times out of 10, the Jordan one would do better, I would think.

Piggy-backing off of this example - I think I value handiness when it comes to batting more than most, based on what I'm reading here and seeing in the votes.  How much should I be valuing this?  As in, if a righty hits .250 off RHP, how much would he be batting if he were left-handed?

Or in other words, a 60 vR, as a righty =  ___ vR as a lefty?

I put it at about 10%.   A 50 becomes a 55 so to speak.

Id platoon or try to find someone with better def/range since hitting is not a concern maybe pull off a trade.  Someone may have a 90 + guy in there minors who they undervalue.  But wtf do I know.   I like def.

Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Harold Jordan does a solid job in CF, 7 errors, 10 plus plays, .706 OPS and then does me a solid by declining the mutual option.

With a short-term contract, I would go with Jordan.  He's declining badly but I still like his attributes at 34 more than I do Chavez at 27.  The 7 against lefties is just terrible for Chavez, making him a platoon player his entire ML career.  I'm just not crazy about platooning and I couldn't play Chavez every day if an injury occured and he was forced into the lineup.

You're a little late to the party.   It was last season.  Jordan played and declined the mutual option for the 2nd season.

Uh, Chavez is a better fielder and baserunner.    RS is kinda irrelevant as no one steals 3 bases after their single.
Late to the party, but I've seen that happen more than once in HBD.  Not sure if its every happened in real life or not, but i had a guy steal 2nd, 3rd & home before the next batter's at bat was decided to score the tieing run in the 8th or 9th inning of a postseason game one time.
