How high of a rating could I pulldown at d3? Topic

I have an A- perstige at d3 and was wondering what is the usual rating I can get for a 4 year player or a 3 year player.

Give me a range please and by the way the max distance is not over 1000 miles

I had a B+ and pulled down a 493 so I would say 500-510

was it a juco though?

To get a 500+ freshman  is rare.  490-498 is doable but it varies from season to season.  If you're less than 70 miles away, you can get a better player than if you're outside that range.

I think that 510 is the highest I've ever seen for a four-year player. I think it was an A+ school and the recruit was within 70 miles. I pulled down a 497 four-year player at D3, but I've seen a few others above 500.

He was not but he was inelligible

But with an A- perstige would you say a 460 high school player that is within 500 miles I could get fairly easy?

I'm at a C- rebuild and pulled 460+... Don't focus on overall rating. Not a good indicator of who can be pulled and who can not be.

I wouldn't say easily, but you have a good chance

It really depends, on may things. What is the players potential? a 440 player with lots of High potential can be harder to get to talk to you than a 460 with mostly average and low potentials. As has also been said distance can also play a factor. I have run the entire gambit on this. I once pulled down a 490ish player who was listed on my DI screen (I had an A+ at the time) and have alo has average 440 players listed on my DII screen tell me to F-Off. Send out calls to the players you are targeting, don't try and jump into the sending SV on the first cycle unless you are extremely confident he will fall to you. I have failed too many times with that strategy to make it worth while for me anymore.

I think ill just send 1 hv and a scollie to like 4 of them and go from there

Send the phone call first. Don't waste the scholarship money, and there is no way they will accept a HV with out some effort to pull the guy down

A couple of seasons ago I pulled 4-year freshman with an overall rating of 520. He was an ineligible, though (which obviously doesn't matter at the DIII level).

Not necessarily.  Always send a phone call to the D2 kid first.  I just finished recruiting with an A prestige at D3 Wooden and landed two D2 guys in the 480's (neither was within 70 miles).  Yet, another D2 guy rated 412 wouldn't talk to me.  Long story short, the only way to know for sure is by calling the kid first.

+1 last season I had a 490 player commit but I couldn't land a 457
