...and the Chinese have made it clear that they do not back the North Korean regime.

It's just a shame there were no huge oil reserves in North Korea.  Maybe that way, a rogue nation with a nuclear arms program testing intercontinental missiles with the express intent of reaching the continental United States might have qualified as a target in a "War on Terror".
You mean like Iran?

The Chinese have made it clear that they DO back North Korea - they just don't condone the posturing that could lead to instability (and, ultimately, the loss of the only other communist ally regime) in the region.

No worries . . . everything is under control now:

U.S. and South Korea both believe a North Korean missle launch is "imminent".  Also, Pakistan test-fired a medium range missle capable of carrying a nuclear warhead deep into India today.  Good to see that the foreign policy "pivot towards Asia," by the "greatest president since FDR," who has "healed decades of damage to foreign policy" is paying such dividends.

In his defense, perhaps by "pivot to Asia" he meant that all foreign affairs staff would have their desks face east, so they can see the pretty sunrise.

That's not a bad idea.

Sounds like Wednesday is the day to watch.  NK warned foreign diplomats that their safety couldn't be guaranteed, starting April 10.  Not sure what the significance of that date is, if any, but it seems odd they would throw a random day in the middle of a random week out there.

The nukes scare me.  If they nuke South Korea, we're almost bound by policy to retaliate in kind.  Once the "Imperialist Americans" unleash a nuke, God only knows what response there will be from militant factions around the world.
It's Wednesday, why aren't we all dead yet?
