Ok, I agree with you, merely watching something on a TV, regardless of what it is, is completely harmless.

If you walk into your neighbor's house and his TV is playing child porn, you watching it harms no one. In the same way that the police watch the porn when collecting evidence.

So you go from this post at 11:19am, in which you say that watching child porn is "completely harmless", to a post at 1:29pm in which you say watching child porn is "harmful".

Hypothetically, if someones child was subject to child porn, wouldn't the parents and relatives and family friends of said child be hurt knowing that many people are watching?

Analysis FAIL on your part.

How would you know that somebody is watching at any point in time?  I highly doubt the viewer is calling mom and dad on the phone and telling them "Hey, I'm watching your kid's video".

You know people have watched or are watching.  This is one of those people. 

The "harm" the parents are feeling is knowing that it's out there.  The fact that somebody may be anonymously watching at any point in time does not make it incrementally worse.

No, I'm assuming tec means in his very narrow scenario that he knows it's child porn when he picks it up.

And ****, if I found child porn in the trash, I'd turn it into police.  Maybe watching the child porn rather than turn it in is similar to watching a crime take place and not reporting it to police.

I think I disagree with your premise.   The harm is that it's being produced and purchased.

While I think someone who enjoys watching it is disturbed, he's not producing it or creating a demand for production by purchasing it. 

Do you disagree?  If so, why?
