That would be approximately 2,352,941,176 government purchased wrenches (at $85 a pop), which could be helping the economy.

But we'd have to pay off $14 trillion in debt to avoid that interest. If you had $14,000 in debt and you really couldn't afford to pay it off, just paying $200 a year in interest is a good deal.

Perhaps better planning could have helped us avoid 14t debt.   Perhaps better budgeting to could help reduce that debt, and the interest payment, now.

But it's probably just better to continue wasteful spending.

And now Obama has canceled tours of the White House because the US just can't afford it.

I sure hope he doesn't have a vacation to Hawaii planned in the near future.
Id be ****** if I had booked tickets and such to fly to DC this summer with my kids. It was actually on a list of possible vacation destinations but I will cross it off the list. I know its just a minor gripe but yeesh, how much does it actually cost to run those?

It's just a hissy fit.  Obama proclaimed there would be pain to the general public due to the sequester.   And he's going to make sure someone feels it.

I'd be ****** if I was going this weekend.

BTW, enjoy your vacation, dumbass.
It starts tomorrow (fresh snow mofo!!!), but it isn't WIS mandated. Apparently, they don't give a **** if someone calls you out for not understanding the deficit but arguing about it anyway.

It's a four hour drive, but I won't be behind the wheel, so expect plenty of check ins from me.

As Bart Scott once said "CAN'T WAIT!!!"

You'll have plenty of time to explain how wasteful government spending is good and how 3% of the population, all unemployed, are the key to our economy.
3/6/2013 3:31 PM
You don't think a 3% change in employment would be significant?
3/6/2013 3:39 PM
I think the employed 92% is more important.    Give them a reason to believe the economy is recovering, that our government can pass a budget and reduce the deficit, that we aren't in a recovery bumb that will fall back at any time, that people can find and keep jobs, that medicare and social security will be there when they need it, that tax increases aren't in the near future to increase revenue, and they'll spend money.    If 92 people are spending 5% more, that's better than 3 people spending 100%(assuming, of course, that the average salary is the same).
3/6/2013 3:51 PM
But, if it makes you feel better, I think a sustained 95% employment rate would make people feel our economy was more stable. It's not the only driving force for consumer confidence but that's a very good start.

You "thinking" anything doesn't make me feel better. Stop before you hurt yourself.
3/6/2013 4:12 PM
Well, you thinking that unemployment numbers are the only thing that affects consumer confidence is stupid.   Don't do a Sonny Bono on your ski trip.   Or do.  Yeah, that would be better. Please do.   For your family.

Normally jumping on a moving train would be a bad idea.

If there is a man with an axe trying to kill you and the only way to get awa if jump on the train it becomes a good idea.

The debt is a man with an axe. It is going to kill us if we dont fix it.

It is the single greatest threat to the Ameican way of life.
why wouldn't I just unload 100 rounds into him and NOT jump on the train?
