How about that..... Topic

Deflection.  Don't talk about the report greeny9.  Don't do it.  Say that the news outlet that is reporting it is "biased".  Keep it up you mental midget.

Oh, and just so you know, I will mention again that this discussion is academic, because the developed world has actually slowed their carbon emissions.  But the developing worlds is on a carbon kick, that will not end in our childrens' childrens' lifetimes.  So again, if man is the problem, the game is up.

Second, I will say again, no one gives two ***** about global warmin.... oh, my bad "climate change" (why did they have to change the name if it was clear the earth was warming?) except for lunatic lefties.  It is about #20 on the list of concerns for the people of the world.

It's over and you guys lost.

Nothing pokes holes in your opinion like pretending the issue is over and your declaration of victory.  You're a sad, sad excuse for a human being.

Nothing pokes holes in your opinion like resorting to name calling.

That's a jclark specialty.

So if the emerging economies are the problem, as data indicates they are, why is the aim at the West, which has this under control?

Why wasnt Kyoto all about China, India and Latin America?

Because that isnt the end political goal of the left.

Global Climate change is just the last in a long line of potential disasters the left tries to sell to gut capitalism.

yes its really inconvenient.

your right baker, theres no such thing as global warming.  blah blah blah  Im going to stick my head in the sand like you and Swampy.

I give you permission to believe whatever you want to believe man.  But dont ever think you are going to change my mind on this matter I have read 10 times as much on this subject then you have.  And I can say with absolute certainty that we are ****** if your opinion wins out.  Heck, even if my opinion wins out and we start making major changes right now its going to be a hard battle.  And even with massive changes we are likely to come out with some severe headaches anyways.

And by hard changes you mean the dismantling of Western Capitalism?

Dont be shy. Tell the world what you want to have happen to "Save" us!
Actually, its not necessary to destroy capitalism.  Localism will go a long way towards curbing most GHGs, and it will also help immensely the local economies.  And with the massive influx of money it can go towards incentives for further research into green tech that can truely make the difference.  I know you dont believe in renewable energy, but it is the future, and the sooner that N America REALLY jumps on board the sooner we can make huge changes.  Every new development should have requirements that it had to supply its own energy requirements through solar panels on its roofs, and wind power in proper places, and designing the building to be as efficient as possible.  CAFE (mileage requirements) were set high up enough that hummers and large SUVs were basically impossible to build and sell.  And with the high CAFE numbers real research would go into making engines much more efficient.

And these are just the things coming off the top of my head.  And Im no expert.  These things when all added up would cost the end consumer very little, and would in fact when you count all the benefits would make N America much more rich, because all those great paying jobs that have left would be coming back.  Unemployment would nearly be a thing of the past.  And with the much stricter enviro guidelines in N America then in China there would be that huge benefit too.

I suppose with all these changes the government wouldnt truely be capitalist anymore, it would be closer to socialist.  Oh well, it would be a heck of a lot better then it is now.

If you really think your plans outlined here would work you have a very poor understanding of economics indeed...

The beauty of liberals.  Fantastic ideas that are completely unrelated to reality.

The west has GHG and pollution under control?  I appreciate your at least trying to be reasonable here Swamp.  Your clearly better at it then Baker.  But you are wrong, the west doesnt have it under control.  No question they are much better then the emerging economies, but in no way is the west truely sustainable.  Not even close.

Kyoto was about the entire world.  But not every country signed it.  The US did, but backed out, as did Canada.  But the majority of countries didnt have any obligations.  All the emerging countries.

I dont have a political goal, I want to turn around the damage we have done so that we dont make the planet unlivable for my child.  That is it.

Ok, here you go again with your rantings and ravings about these so called lefty conspiracy theories.  Please elucidate us Swampy with your grand visions of the left trying to take away your freedoms.

Tell you what, I can start you off, we plan on creating a one world government eventually, but to start we have created the Euro-zone, the African union and we will be starting the N American union too with our currency the Amero.

And I suppose Dahs that we should just stay the course then?  Its working out so well for everybody isnt it?  Why dont you give us your brilliant insight on how to fix the worlds problems.

Im not asking you Baker, because Ive never seen anything resembling original thought in any of your postings.  Its either ripped off of Faux news, or something Id expect to be spewed out of the mouth of Rush.  All crap, I have a heck of a lot more respect for Swamp then I do for you Baker.  Sorry, but its true.  But please, dont cry yourself to sleep tonight, Im sure you have friends that think the exact same you do, just give em a call.

I wish you right-wing nutjobs would stop trying to destroy the progressive green religion - you can't change their minds from believing in their holy books, their sacred graphs, and their revered saints.   It's just not going to work.
I'm afraid if you keep provoking them, they will begin threatening minorities, honor-killing their children for not taking public transportation, or leaving helpless poor people who don't have windmills and solar panels to die.
Just grow a beard, live on the heat output of your childless women, and try not to fart greenhouse gasses.   Then they will love and accept you.
