I think I could confidentantly say that 4-5 of the categories at the bottom of this list wouldn't make it into the next league.  Personally, I got three starting batters from "Run Producers", "Thieving Infielders" and "Mash It or Miss It", which would've been near or at the bottom.

Regarding trades, I see firesalt's point.  However, think of the leverage that team with two SS will have (assuming that SS is a scarce position).  If I have two quality shortstops and somebody else really needs one, I'm certainly going to get more than equal value for him.  Sure, being able to trade to fill a hole gives you an 'out' but it's an expensive one ...
This was my thought exactly. This still puts the people who drafted better in a position of strength as they would be able to bleed the team missing a positional player for extra value. But I'd be fine with or without trades.

I am fine with our without trades also. I think it is a good idea to experiment a little and see what works best. I just wanted us to consider everything before making a decision. To speed the untimed portion of the draft, we could have a trade period, during which all draft pick trades must be made. After the period is over we start the drafts.

You HAVE to love a league that's on Page 5 of rules discussions (all in a positive manner), and season one hasn't even started yet!  Great group of owners.

I'd like to second item 9 of pinotfan's list a few pages back, that the links be convenient to the draft pages. I was busy during this draft and disliked the time wasted going back and forth.  But I certainly will play again.  I wonder what Ron Shandler would say about our various draft strategies.  I know there was a lot of "Stars and Scrubs" bidding.

Schwarze, any idea on when you would want to post the season 2 thread in the theme league classifieds? Part of me wants to do it soon because I know how long it took last time to fill and also because I can be an impatient person :)

I was going to wait until after the first league got underway (i.e., all 16 rosters entered and verified)...

Well, you can count me in for season 2 for sure...
