swamp, so what? Guys like Romney pay way too little taxes.

Still want to know: In your opinion, Sweden is a 'socialist' country or not?

1 The reality of what Sweden has become isnt what that left sees. They are talking about the mythology of Sweden. The story that I grew up with that Sweden is a utopia.

2 Mitt Romney does have to pay more than 13% INCOME tax. He pays less for capital gains. You might need to take a class in economics to get defintions of types of taxes.
'The reality of what Sweden has become isnt what that left sees.'

So you are an expert in swedish affairs???

'They are talking about the mythology of Sweden.'

Really don't know what you mean to say with this mysterious sentence. Who is 'they'? And where are 'they' talking like that?

'The story that I grew up with that Sweden is a utopia.' What do you want to say? You grew up with stories about Sweden or about Utopia? And who told you those stories?

When I was in school the left would hold up Sweden as the ideal of what they wanted America to be.

Cradle to grave government control.

Even Sweden itself has moved away from these failed policies.

You want us to be more like 30s German fascism.

Romney pays all the taxes he is legally required to pay.

I think the argument is not that Romney should voluntarily pay more in taxes than he's legally obligated, but that the tax laws should be changed so that income from labor and income from investment is taxed the same.

Do you really want that?

Aside from making poor people feel good why would you want that?

It would bring in a small amount of revenue and would be damaging to the economy!

I'm not sure about "damaging to the economy", but I do think that raising capital gains taxes is not something that should be taken lightly.  There could be unintended consequences to providing disincentive to long-term investors.

Actually that's not true.....he paid more than he was legally required to because he didn't want his percentage to be lower than he said he paid.

So we have gotten off course here.

Again can ANYONE on the left give me ANY data that supports the claim that Biden's Gun ban will reduce the threat of crime in America?
1/14/2013 6:34 PM
I'm not on the left, but I can answer.

The threat of crime will always be there.  What you can do is reduce the scope of potential crimes.

Again you are making a connection between gun control and some kind of reduction in crime.

Explain what?

It's easier to shoot someone if you have a gun.   That cannot be denied.
1/15/2013 4:10 PM
If it's harder to get automatic weapons it's harder to get one and carry it into Times Square and open fire on the literally thousands of civilians milling around.  Any more stupid questions with blatantly obvious answers?
