So drafting Michael Jordan's 88-89 season started me off with 6 usage points, though it is closer to 8. I swing a trade for Larry Bird and I'll be using his 86-87 season, again another 6 usage points. I've got my PG and SG, probably the biggest gap between picks in league history and in need of low-usage guys with limited negative numbers. I waited for 75 picks before selecting Serge Ibaka, a guy who could easily go in the early-late third round. One usage point, 100 defensive, 1.2 topg, 2.7 fpg and 3.7 blocks, gaining a shot blocker with low turnovers, low fouls, a 100 defense and the ability to play SF. 12.4/16.9 for his rebounding, I'll take 29.3 for a small forward any day.
I created a big board with ten guys, it contained the likes of Anthony Mason, Terry Porter, AC Green and Lamar Odom, the common theme is all of these guys went before James Donaldson, and the list was made after I chose Bird. It also contained Ibaka and Troy Murphy. I know that I'll get exactly what I want out of Donaldson, low turnovers, a good percentage all around and low fouls. Both guys in my backcourt can rebound, I have an above average rebounding small forward. I think a centre with a 33 combined isn't horrific given those other players. Troy Murphy brings me three pointers, great defensive rebounding and sure the knock on my teams last two picks is the 50 and 33 defensive ratings. However added with the 100, 90 and 76 I am not overly worried
I am left with 13 million and I've drafted 14K minutes.
